I suggested the leaf aperture, so it's my fault. :/
As I think about what I like about my current logo's graphical element (the lens) is that it is so elegant and simple. This is a simple and elegant representation of the leaf aperture, but because of the subject matter it comes off to me as too "cartoonish" (might be a better word for it, but it is not coming to me).
