Hello, i just had a look at your portfolio and i love your work! i'm actually more excited about the possibility of winning a print than the cash =) i came up with this simple RPB monogram then flipped it upside down and turned it back to front. The final result is something that is interesting and eye catching because it doesn't quite look right but it does that without being jarring, its still quite pleasant to look at. Simple, sophisticated and iconic, you could easily use this logo for the rest of your career without having to change it =) it will also work really well as a standalone icon and as a watermark on your photos any feedback would be great, im happy to make any changes you might have or try any of your ideas. thanks! bugy
Very nice idea and execution. I like the concept of the combined initials into a graphic element (as opposed to straight initials). But the tail of the R sticking up to the left isn't working for me. Could you please try rotating/mirroring or rigging it to point down to the right? Or come at it another way?
(I actually didn't realize there was this individual design comment link until after I posted one long comment. So I didn't see your explanation of 10 vs 11. I can't really see a difference on my monitor, but I'm re-ranking 11 over 10 assuming you can see an improvement!)
same thing but with standard orientation as opposed to the previous 'film negative' orientation. personally i really like the first one because its different and unique and has a clever idea behind it but obviously this is your baby =)
#28 I think you're right that the "negative" way is more interesting and the standard orientation doesn't really cut it either. It's just that "foot" of the R as the first element (reading l to r) makes me think of a frying pan handle. I really like your thinking and maybe you can figure something else out.
hehe, to me its the leg of the 'r' sticking upwards like that that gives the logo its interest and makes it strong because its just not how people are using to seeing text, the eye recognizes this symbol as being text and yet the only letters with sections on that angle are W, Y, X and V, none of which are apparent in this logo, it makes people do a double take and that is critical towards making the logo memorble =) here is the requested one with the icon only reflected on the vertical axis rather than both, i think this is also cool but still prefer the original
i did this one not expecting to like it but i actually think its really strong, the way the text sits on the icon creates some nice eye catching angles. let me know what you think =)
I like the way you think about this stuff. And I agree with waht you're saying in the comment re #72, but that foot of the R sticking out there all by itself looks at first to me like a handle - as in frying pan. I'm probably wired oddly.
