I am not so sure about red. (I actually think choosing red was a mistake on my part). I really like #59. One thing that I was thinking is that Kansas has 3 interstates running through it. The line in #59 reminds me of I-70 which is a major drug route. Could you stylize the interstates in the design of #59? Sort of to give the impression of them but not making it look a map of Kansas? I think using the shape of Kansas is a great idea.

Thanks

Jim

Maybe not that stylized as in #83 and #84. here is a link with a basic image showing how the interstates run. Is there some how to show the lines but still make it not look like its just a map of Kansas? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_70_in_Kansas.

I really like the lines you added in #87 but I like the bigger letters that you used in #59. Do you think you could put the 2 designs together? One of the reasons is that #87 sort of creates an optical illusion where the L looks like it is not on the same line as the P.

Thanks you for all of your efforts.

Another thought is to use the state outline as a backing as in #55 with the lines and without the letters.

I like #106 and am leaning that way but I prefer the background image on #55 better. Not sure how I feel about the two tone background image. The color I can use for my business cards, website and email, so I like the blue, but my letterhead is going to be printed off on a laser printer on an as needed basis, so it will be in black and white.

My wife thinks the lines need to look more like the interstates we have in Kansas so people "get" that it is Kansas, but I am not so sure. Could you do one combining #106 and #55 but with less stylistic "interstates"?

Another designer is using a horse head in his design. The horse head is my current logo (www.jamesrprattlaw.com). Are you allowed to use it since it is my current logo, even though another designer has submitted a design with it? My wife likes it and I was wondering about putting the horse head in the outline of the state of Kansas, instead of the interstates.

Please disregard the last comment. I don't think it will look good. Too busy.
