The added box and rays of light around the fixture give it more of a feeling that it is connected to a home.

Like this version! This may be difficult to do, but is there a way we can get some kind of porch in the logo as well?

This looks a bit more threatening than what we're looking for. Porchlight is supposed to be about creating welcoming communities. What would a design look like that emphasizes those emotions?
