Can you make his head a bit smaller and take his hat off?

incorporated a smaller head and lost the hat

#27 Great! Can you have him carrying a plunger? Slung over his back? (Like a rifle)? I don't know..
I was hoping to have him doing something that would make him look like he was working on the lettering.. Or like.. He has one hand on top, and one hand on the bottom of the letters, like he is "tightening" them..
(like they were broken, and water was dripping out of them, and he is fixing them).. Or otherwise, using a pipe wrench on part of the letters, or the 65?
Also, I was hoping for a "look" that isn't quite so "happy". More like he is concentrating.. Not "serious", but contemplative or concerned??

Ok.. I had a thought. Can you just have him have a pipe wrench in his hand? But only showing the jaws of it? And just a couple (or so) fingers? I don't think we need to show the whole wrench, by any means.
Just the top part of it.
What do you think??

Generally, I think simpler is better. So I like the idea.

With that said I've got some ideas and hope to have some new options posted by this evening, central time in the US.

#27 Wonderful. This is much appreciated. I know you are not getting paid what you are worth for this, so it's nice to have you puting in so much effort.

I added the wrench to the hand and have it wrapping around the dot in the i. I thought it would be a nice way to tie all together

#33 This is getting close. The wrench seems to blend into the background, though. Is there anything that can be done about that? If he and the wrench were a bit smaller, (as in #27), the words will stand out more, too? I see what you did for me, in #34, with the smile. I want to try ONE MORE thing. Let's have him smile a little out of the side of his mouth, (so we don't see so much teeth), and have him wink. Have him do a little thumbs-up with his right hand. (Still hand resting on the letters, just a thumb-up)?? Do you think that this will work?

I added the thumbs-up, wink and side smile with slightly open mouth and less teeth showing. I also recolored the word "plumbing" to have more of a silver/grey coloring of pipes. This really helps the wrench stand out more as well. I kept the reds in 65 though so they to would stand out.

#37 I am liking it. His smile looks not quite right. We can try again, or we can just go with the original smile. But I like the thumbs-up, and the color change, with the pipe wrench.... Want to try something a little bit different with the smile? Should I look for some examples?

Let's take #33 and change the letters, so that they are light/silver? And I want to see if you can "bend" the letters.. Just a slight bend. Like put all of the letters on a radius/curve. Curve them up a bit.... I was thinking this would add a little something to the logo, to "finish" it... IF YOU THINK this would look dumb, don't bother. (I'm not any artist). Anyway, I think we might just stick with the original smile, without a wink. Just the thumbs-up, and the wrench on the dot. I have been looking at this so long, maybe I should sleep on it. But there isn't much time left.

#54 Yes. We all like this one. We are going to try to extend the contest to let you tweek it. I'm liking EVERYTHING, except that "Plumbing" seems a bit drab? I don't know if we can do anything in the way of outlining it, or puting some light gradient color around the edge to make it stand out a little more. Might want something to make the dot in the "i" stand out, (but that was why we made it silver to begin with, so I don't know). If the contest ended now, though, I would be happy with this. But I need to make a bunch of calls, and get input from family, and what-not..

Though it's entirely up to you, you do not have to extend the contest for tweaking of an entry. Once a contest enters judging the first place entry can continue to make modifications, etc.

With that said I'll work on tweaking the logotype and see what I can do.

#63 We are really liking this. I like how you squished the "dot" with the wrench, too. and #64.. I like the blue, but my "business partner" (wife) doesn't like it as much. Nice nice work. Belive it or not, I just realized that there was water in the word "plumbing". And I really like that! I'm really leaning towards the blue, but Ines likes the silver. I get veto vote. So I want to see you concentrate on the water in "Plumbing". (I want you to also squish the "dot" in the "i" more with the wrench).
Maybe we could leave the blue on the bottom, and make it silver on top? Or just a lighter blue? And I would like to see maybe some splashes in the water so that it looks more like... So that the eye notices it more.
This logo is looking sweet. IMO...

#68 Nice. Ok.. Let's make the color in the 65 just all one color. No gradient. (It kinda looks like we are trying to take the water into the 65, which doesn't look quite right).
What I was thinking about was to have the water effect to take the place of the shading effect that you had in the letters. The water is a bit too choppy. Can we make it smoother? (But not as smooth as the shading effect) (Make it look more like waves, rather than splashes, as I asked you to do before)?
Have the wrench "squish down" on the "dot" some more. I like the effect. It kinda makes it look like there is some torque on it. (In #63, the dot seems to have a look of a fat "s"... I like that look. Hope my eyes are not tricking me).
I honestly can't see what else we could do to make this any better.

incorporated your comments...wavier water with less splash, no highlight on 65, with the more squish on the "i" and no shading on the top half of "plumber"

Your probably getting tired of this! I would like to see what happens if we do the upper half of the words in Plumber white. Or a gradient, from white, at the top, to grey/silver at the bottom. I think it would make the word stan out more.
Other than that, I can't see anything else that needs changing.
What do YOU think about this logo???
I am curious to see what any of your friends have to say?

I really like it and those that I've shown it to do as well, especially the wrench torquing the dot in the eye. I'll post a new variation shortly.

here's a white to sliver gradient in the "plumber" I darkened the water just a bit to maintain some contrast with the gray

Well. We are very pleased with this. I can't see anything that needs to be done. That was a lot of work.
I hope you don't have to work this hard for all of your contests!
It would be nice to speak with you, personally, if you don't mind.
Please email me with your number, if you agree to that!
