Here is my initial logo idea for your consideration. I decided to take "pic" from "pickacaption.com" and separate it from the rest of the text, to further emphasize the point of the site—a simple, yet clever additional play on words.
I kept the colors neutral, as you said you wanted to keep the site simple and basic. I would suggest this black/white/gray color-scheme, as that will allow the photos on your site to attract all of the attention—rather than the site being too bright or colorful and distracting from them. (I did the same thing with my portfolio site, so that the focus is on my actual work rather than my site layout.)
Let me know if you have any specific feedback or additional ideas, and I will be happy to provide changes. Thanks for your consideration.
Thanks for your submission! I really like the poloriod in this logo the best. I'm not a huge fan of the font though, but I see what you were going for. I'm going to throw out some suggestions and forgive me if they don't make sense. I'm wondering if there's a way to make the poloroid be less opaque and maybe centered (maybe behind the logo and maybe bigger???) with the whole logo more linear. Also a more simple clean font like those near the top of my rankings. Perhaps a caption thrown in somewhere too. I know this sounds like I'm suggesting to make this more mainstream and like the others. This is where it's going to sound confusing. One of the things I like about this logo is it's original. If there's a way to incorporate some of the suggestions I made (especially the font) while still be original and maybe throwing in other things if you feel it's needed that would be stupendous!!! Maybe only some of the changes (not all) would be needed to achieve this... up to you.
Thanks for the initial feedback. After I started working with the photo in the middle, as you requested, I came up with this idea. Each photo is part of the name, with each part of the name being a caption itself for each of the photos. Let me know what you think. I was trying to incorporate your feedback/directions, while still keeping my ideas unique and original from what was already posted.
