Like the polished look and where you're head is at, but something isn't working. Try moving the M to the left and change the colors. Feel free to use more colors.
The colors need to be different between the icon and the text though. We like the green and orange. Can you see what other colors you can use to change the colors of the text so there's more contrast.
This icon could work well with a border around it like the icons used for the iPhone.
Can you remove the "heads" from #56 and make the right side of the M or right person a little shorter, which will give it an italic look but represent one shorter person...probably the female. Since it will have an italic look maybe also try an italic version of the font. Even Adobe Caslon Pro in italic.
For #34 can you remove the two little marks at the bottom of the center of the M.
