Our Ideas & Additional Information
My current website www.lisabmarshall.com (it's being redesigned right now with more functionality. However, I like the current clean, simple design and the current site gets lots of great feedback. )

I want YOUR logo to be an upgrade to my current site and the new site will be developed and designed around YOUR Logo. (Notice there is NO logo on current site).

To learn more about my personality/brand you can listen to one of my shows that I do (each episode is only about 6-7 minutes long) http:thepublicspeaker.tv (instructions here for listening)

Here are three random logos that I noticed recently and said to myself, "that logo looks nice"...I don't LOVE them, but they might give you a feel for what I like?

Overall, I tend to like, simple, modern, bold.

In terms of ideas that I have? I don't know, maybe, overlapping "thought bubbles"? Maybe that's too cliche, too comic bookish? I only put the idea because the question asked. I would prefer YOUR creativity, I am NOT a designer.

Finally, I do understand how important communication is and I promise to give feedback and rank the logo designs. Ultimately, second and third will go to those who put most effort in. Thanks for reading and I hope you'll consider entering.

This is my first contest, so feel free let me know how I can help. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally get a good logo design!

Everyone seems to be leaning towards red. Not sure that ultimately red will be my choice. I would welcome other color suggestions. I understand red is for passion, but that reminds me of romantic passion, not corporate passion about the work I do. Maybe orange would be better. Or maybe a more corporate feel of blue- but a modern version of corporate blue?

Oh, and in the brief, I mention that I'll need to logo to work with and without the tag line. So I think you'll need to include the tag line "Passionate About Communication"

MG&D,
First, thanks for entering the contest! There is something wrong with your design pages. Every time I try to access to give you comments, it gives me an error page. Something about a "private page" , I don't know what that is all about. I sent a note to the TQ to ask for assistance.

So, I'll need to give you the feedback here. I prefer #28 out of what you sent. My first reaction (and the reaction of two other people) was that the graphic reminds them of the MS Windows logo! The each said immediately, "Oh, windows!"...
However, I still like the overall layout of the design. I like the font style, but I don't like the emphasis on BM (that's bowel movement in English!). Maybe the Marshall could be emphasized in some way, while the lisa b part less emphasized. Maybe it's the the B that bothers me.

Regarding the graphic, it could work with four conversation bubbles, but I think it needs to have less color options and perhaps the shape of them need to change somewhat. Also, the way you have them it's like the conversation is in ring...it might be better if two are "talking" together and the other two are talking together. Meaning the part that hangs down would be facing each other. I'm not sure how clear I am. If you don't understand, let me know.

I need to do some recordings tonight in my studio. So, I'll give you more feedback tomorrow and maybe TQ will have whatever is wrong fixed. Thanks for putting effort into this.

Hello everyone,

I will be back in about 2 hours from now (It's about 10:30 EST USA). I really like many of the new entries and will give detailed feedback when I return!

I really appreciate all the talent and energy going into these designs!!

I wanted to post this for everyone to give an equal chance.

The designer, ufotofu, incorporate a photo into his design. He used an old photo from my website.
Here is a link to my new media photos. If your design includes a photo please use one of these:

I was hoping that at least one or two designers would attempt a logo that incorporated one of my pictures. I thought perhaps that ufotofu was going to refine his idea, but I think he may have chosen not to.

If you've got an idea for this, I'd like to see it. The links to the pictures is above.

Also, I was hoping to maybe see a design that used my initials "LM" or in some way as part of the graphic that was used. Stylized, but incorporated and still giving you an hint at what I do for a living.

Anyway, I was waiting but it seems we are coming to the end of the contest so I thought I would post it here.

Any takers?

OK, just a quick update. I've decided against using my initials. It turns out that "LM" no matter what the font, looks too close to "um" ...which in English is a communication disfluency! Not a good idea!

Sorry that I may have steered some in the wrong direction!

I'm embarrassed to write this...you had the coloring right from the start! #179 is the winner for the font.

Now about that pesky exclamation point...what do you prefer without or with, and if with, where?

Thanks!! I am really liking this graphic. I moved it to #2, but the reality is you are practically tied for #1 spot.

OOOps..the above comment was meant for a specific designer..sorry about that.

I wanted to say thank-you to everyone that has entered this contest. I also wanted to explain why I chose to extend the contest.

I am extremely happy with the currently ranked top 5 designs: #189, #178, #130, #125, & #109. Each are attractive to me for different reasons and I am having a hard time deciding which will ultimately work the best for me. It is a very close contest between the top 5 and the order could easily change.

One of the above designs still needs a round of changes, and unfortunately, due to time zones, and I didn't think he/she would make it under the deadline. That's the primary reason I extended it two days, but it is very likely I will end the contest sooner than that.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the time and effort that went into this contest. It was incredible to me. I am blown away by the talent.

Lisa

P.S. I read this today. I thought you might like to see it too.
