First, let me say that these are all lovely designs.
I like the minimalism of #101, but I'm not a huge fan of the red... it reminds me too much of HAL from the movie '2001'. I do love the font you chose for #100 and #101.
The colors in #100 are very rich and beautiful, but I'm a little worried that the design might be a bit generic.
Design #99, while beautiful, doesn't speak to me about my specific application.
Just in case you missed the note, I'm looking for a fairly minimalist icon that can also be used as a watermark on my photos. Lastly, I'd like the icon to work in very small 16x16 'favicon' format for my web site.
thanks for your feedback - i will change the color red. About #100 i dont think you should have any issues - you can consult the Logo Tournament staff Mr Ivan if you have any doubts about it - alternatively you can bring a discussion on the Contest holders Forum too for any clarification.
About #99 the emphasis was on the word craft than on the word lens - the logo needs to be seen in abstraction- but i understand your needs for minimalism - thanks for you feedback
Btw - i think all the design should sit well on a 16x16 favicon format - #100 and #101 will be nice as a favicon and as a water mark too - i can send you samples in such format if you wish.
I'm not sure we're understanding one another regarding logo #100. I wasn't concerned with regards to the tournament... I was concerned that it was too 'general-purpose' and would not be a memorable logo for my business.
Strangely, I think that #120 is not as good as #101. Could you try green for the center of the 'eye', either the same shade as 'craft' or a different shade?
thanks for you valuable comments - you can take time to specify any color code, if you may - colors scheme are easily done, and should not be any problem. Thanks again
Entry #100 was too generic a symbol in general but not for the industry in question here - for i view it as color filters and not camera aperture - as you know camera aperture are most often used symbol in logos.
Therefore i just came up with Entry #178 Entry #177 - you can imagine it as color filters or opened-aperture
#177 and #178 are nice, especially #178, but I still like the curvier #100 better. It has an organic feel that is very appealing. #144 is also beautiful, but I'm not sure it's right for me. I'm going to keep it in the ranking, but I'd love to see variations on this theme.
I don't like the newer entries as much as your original submissions. The thing I loved about #144 was the simplicity, as well as the subtle letter 'c' hidden in the graphic.
Hope you like this one - its a Prism, and you will see the incident ray/light cutting through the word lenscraft and then refracting through the lens + prism ( the white circle is the lens and the prism sits inside )
I will put up some variation of this after a few hours - its 3.30 am - and i need sleep ..
hi there Thanks for the ranking - i was out of station that i could not sub,it some last minute new entries - i thought the contest was extended - but then ... it closed before hand i guess ... never mind - i enjoyed your contest anyway - good luck and cheers
