Color Preferences
I like dark blues, greens, I am really open to many different colors. Bright, bold colors preferred. I do want it on a white background and would prefer a logo which could be set to white to be used on a color background, but first and foremost is the use on a white background.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The current site is www.learnthat.com. You do not need to retain any of the elements in the current logo.

I think it's important to capture the idea of what the site is doing - offering tutorials in many different subject areas.

This logo will be the foundation of a site redesign which will incorporate more community features and add some instructor led courses to the free content.

I like Web 2.0 styles - clean design, bold styles, bright colors. Focus on the collaborative nature of people learning together.

In reflecting since I ranked the components last night, I think a couple of them change. I would like the logo to lean halfway towards "Playful" versus Serious (so more playful, less serious). Also, more bright than subtle, and halfway towards Loud, rather than split down the middle with Quiet.

Admin, is there a way to change the rankings?

The site will redesigned this year and the logo for the foundational element of the design. The design of the site will coincide with new interactive features for people to interact with fellow learners, as well as introduce some instructor led courses to the current free offerings.

I just changed the rankings to reflect my first comment. It is up-to-date now.

Generally speaking, I will provide comments here for everyone to see. If you prefer personal comments on the design page, I will be glad to do that.

First, thank you for posting designs. I appreciate the hard work you all have done and look forward to seeing the new designs as they come in.

General comments: I like bold clean fonts versus stylish/flowing fonts. I am a fan of a clean and memorable type. The slogan is a nice to have, but not a requirement of the logo. If it works with the flow of the design, great, if not, I can get the slogan on the site in other ways. And so everyone knows... 'a lot' is two words, not one.

One more note: the .com isn't a requirement either - the logo could contain either "Learnthat" or "Learnthat.com." The current logo doesn't have the .com and I don't think missing the .com is a problem - your call!

#1: The first thing that came to mind was "Airtouch Cellular." Similar arch in the logo. I use an arch in my parent company (ThatNetwork.com) logo, so I don't want to do that here. The font is nice, a little thinner than I would normally use, but fits well with the design. I do like how the slogan fits in with the logo.

#2 & #3: I don't like the font - too script for me. I didn't get the "bubbles" until I read your comment - it looks like an ice cream cone to me. The slogan definitely doesn't work here, it's unreadable in this font at that size.

#4, #5, #6: The idea of a light bulb is good, but I didn't like these logos. Is there any difference between them? There didn't appear to be.

I've ranked to date, but nothing has grabbed me yet.

#8: Of the ideas, the best so far, but not completely sold on a light bulb being the symbol of the site.

#9: The font was better than the other designs, I felt that the graphic overpowered the name of the site.

I like a Web 2.0 style - cleaner, bolder fonts. Brighter colors. I haven't seen anything like this yet.

Focus on the collaboration between learners. People will be able to discuss, comment on, and offer other resources for the tutorials as well as have opportunities to learn from other people.

#16: Of the designs, this is the cleanest and most well constructed. I don't really want a lightbulb as I feel it's overused in logos. I can't see your private comments - maybe because of your username? It gives me an error every time.

#18, #19, #20: Thank you for submitting designs. I do not like the badge effect.

#28: I like the fonts - the combination of normal & bold to make the "Learn" stand out is precisely what I was talking about for bold & clean design. I like the guy - that would make a good standalone element of the logo. Good job!

#33 is just plain concept copy of #28 Entries like this should be eliminated unless CH's brief clearly describes "We want to see head, filling with something". Otherwise it's just "I take your idea and give it my look." Which is wrong...

Ok, I see this contest is another "blind shooting". I'm out.

#43: Nice, clean design. I like the imagery of the head inside the question mark. Colors are well chosen.

I do like the idea of things flowing into the head as shown by #28. It is a creative image of what the site is for.

If you're looking for other ideas, I like the idea of multiple illustrated people similar to some of the designs done for LearnSocially (though somehow showing learning interaction).
