Discussion

Well, here you have it: Masculine, Simple, Serious, Refined, and Adventurous. :o) Joking aside, I feel this design conveys those values, which you stated are important to you. I'd like to point your attention to the squares in the abstract symbol. Notice that whether you are intuitively led to begin with the outer, or the inner, the beginning is on the level and has a proper orientation. This progresses to being slightly out of kilter, yet there is still an orderliness and precision to the chaos. Then the image is resolved. as once again, a proper orientation is restored.

A functional orientation in life, is often the result of having a story which makes sense of present circumstances, as this story gives meaning to the abstract image I chose for you.

Please feel free to offer any feedback or suggestions. ~ c a r s o n

#9 is good. I was told by some people that looked at it that it was too simple. Those same people have not weighed in on #37 or #36, but given that they have said that about your design, is there any way to make it more complex?

That's funny. I immediately thought of #37 when you suggested that #9 was too simple. Simple is actually often sought after in a logo. I think the idea is that it is easier to remember and describe something simple than something complex. I'm not arguing though, just sharing a viewpoint.

To answer your question, sure I could make it more complex. I could add more shapes, more color, more texture, etc. Is there any particular direction of complexity you think your friends would find appealing?

Here are some ideas with the increased complexity you requested.
