I would like to use earthy colours that represent the Pilbara (remote Western Australia) countryside such as 'ochre' (see colours at the following picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tyson1978/5338209636/in/photostream )
I will also consider new bright colours that reflect technology such as a blue or silver
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:
~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation. ~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries. ~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio ~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion ~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see. ~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested". ~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation. ~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points. ~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging. ~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions
Hi Designers! A great start to the competition! When you're thinking about the design treatments please think about the use and meaning of the word 'Campfire'. Think of things like heat, warmth, glow, sparks, embers, storytelling, fire, life, fuel (wood), conversation, dance, song, ritual, tribal, governance, elders etc. 'Campfire' has very special meaning as a means of communication for transference of knowledge and belief systems in indigenous cultures. If you have any questions about the brief please private message me or post a note and I'll provide whatever assistance I can to help you produce the most effective and creative design. Thanks Si
Here are some general comments not listed in order of priority:
The style and direction of Fonts we like the most so far 1. Entry #27 2. Entry #28
The style and direction of Icons/Symbols/Graphic Devices we like the most so far 1. Entry #30 2. Entry #26
We are still looking for something unique that communicates the project vision of "Blending ancient Australian Indigneous Culture With Today's Modern Technologies".
We like the idea of a icon/symbol/graphic device that has a gathering around a central point which represents the campfire or meeting, sharing place.
1. Can we please keep the logo designs using a WHITE BACKGROUND please. Black backgrounds make it VERY HARD for us to evaluate the logo and how it will appear on what will mostly be WHITE BACKGROUNDS.
2. Please keep icons/graphic devices simple and not too cluttered so that it is difficult to make out what the actual icon IS when its reduced.
