Hi Glendon,

Thanks for the entry and you are heading more in the right direction them many of the others. We are looking for a brand logo as we are technically not the city but a private entity, so we are creating a brand.

I will be speaking with my associate in about two hours and will be getting back to you with more input.

Best regards,
Charles

Thanks Charles,
I'm glad you like it.
Let me know if you have any suggested changes.
I will probably give you a few typeface variations as well.

A good tip for getting a really good logo, Let the designers know what you like or dislike about their design by leaving a little feedback.
The more advice you give to the designers, the better your outcome will be.

Thanks,
Glendon

Hi Glendon,

Thanks for the input and yes it's a lot about feedback. Which today was all about! The higher ups liked your a lot but concerned about the egret as it is used by many companies in Hilton Head Island. They like the use of wood Beach chairs, easy riding "beach" bike or beach umbrella. Also for the font, we all agree that we need to go with something rounded or scripted to give it a more fun relaxed filling. We also own HiltonHead.com but that is more a business site (It's logo will be addressed also) and will have a more corporate feel to it versus HiltonHeadIsland.com

Please let me know if you have any questions and again THANKS!

Best regards,
Charles

Here is a version using wooden beach chairs.
I placed 2 of them side by side facing out over the ocean watching the sunset.
I thought that was a good way to tie in both relaxation and a romantic getaway for 2.
I used only 2 colors in the design and it can also work as a one color print as well.
I tried 2 different scripts. I will try a few more over the weekend as well.
Supposedly we are going to get 6-10 inches of snow, and should that happen I am not walking out my front door. More time to design:)

Hey Glendon,

Love entry #93 would love to see it brighten up with an extra color and do you have a font little more fun/unique like Entry #95.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Charles

Thought on the yellow line being blue or orange as it is water or sun reflecting off the water and the beach chairs being tan or lighter contrasting color to stand out. Could the chairs be a little bigger or does it throws the balance off?

Hi Glendon,

Just spoke with my associates and they like #92 more because of the font, but agree with my original comments (December 20th, 2009, 2:04am & 2:17am)... I can imagine that you are busy with the holidays, but I look forward to the updated entries.

Best regards,
Charles

Here is a revision. I will try a few different color variations as well.

Hi Glendon,

Hum, I was thinking just a blue line (water line) and then sand tan, use the tan and blue from Entry #133. Right now it looks like the chairs are in water. Go ahead and extend the bottom lines (planks) across to have more white showing. Right now when the logo is viewed small, then blue takes over on a sub-pixel level, and that takes away from the chairs.

Thanks,
Charles

Hi Charles,

I did try it out that way, but was unhappy with the results.
I came up with a few more options that I think would work better utilizing the banner space of a website and also creating an interesting graphic for marketing materials, stationary, and clothing.
I am also working on one more as well. I will be uploading that a little later.

Thanks,
Glendon

Hi Glendon,

I know that the holidays are upon us, and on Entry #192 we like the change but don't want the white space (gap) between the Sun, Water, Sand, so that each should be touching. Use the font from Entry #93, keeping the domain name intact, as you have it in Entry #192.

Thanks and Happy Holidays,
Charles
