Hi Stickie!

I really like what you have done in #7, #13, and #14 with the badge/logo to the left of the company name. I particularly like how each of the three clearly incorporates the company initials, (and the way that #13 and #14 achieve it while also looking like a stylized person is pretty cool too).

I also like the letter F in #10 and #11, but I am looking for something where I can separate the company name and the badge if I need to, (thus my attraction to #7, #13, and #14).

Hi
I am always trying to provide smart and relevant symbols with high recognition value because this is what logo design is all about...
I will work on different colors and typography so that you can have a wider choice of variations...

Best regards

Hi Stickie,

I can absolutely see the thought you put into them. I look forward to seeing what you do with them next.

Hi Stickie,

I really like some of these. To make sure you know how I'm ranking, however, I wanted to let you know that if there are two or more that only differ in color's chosen, (e.g. #73, #70, #68, etc...). I'm ranking the one I like the most only. I'm still looking at the others, but in my mind I'm saying that that whole family is sitting in rank 1 at the moment. I'm only leaving the others un-ranked to avoid cluttering the rankings.

Now... back to trying to sort out which of those I like the most. :)

Hi Stickie,

Now that it's down to the final five I'd love to see some more from you. My favorite from you so far is still #73, but I really like where you were going with #72 and #70. Any more ideas?

Or maybe even more than one professional :) most of us are professionals and still upload different designs :)

Stickie,

*laughing* True. Very small company with very small budget, though. That said, we have made arrangements for another designer to assist us in judging and we are also workshoping it with a small subset of our target demographic. The company owner decided that it doesn't matter if he likes it as long as our target market does.

getting a bit confused with the latest changes..

A fair concern and one that I've been looking at pretty closely.

What separated Julls from you for me was her positioning of the h F as a hill/stairs. From the earliest submissions, the color patterns and use of HF in the graphic badge was common enough that I've considered it a universal.

The most recent from Julls were developed when I asked her to show me what the badge looked like without the 'man' in it and if she stripped away the third color.

The color instruction is one I've given to several people.

Given that the letter use, and chosen colors, are nearly universal amongst the designers. It is really just the presentation of the initials as stairs that set Julls apart for us as unique.

Are we seeing it wrong?

Yes you are seeing it wrong and I will kindly explain.
Had I not entered this contest the whole contest would have looked differently.
I entered first with lots of different designs to see what you will like and continued updating my entries...
There are thousands of options to design a logo for a fitness company like yours as you can see in my first 20 entries...
Immediately after ranking me first the others tried to get as close as possible but keeping it a bit different so I cant say anything...
In your brief you say ''surprise me'' about color options so even if you required the colors they were still based on my initial entries...
The font used in your winning entry is exactly the same as the one I introduced in #15 with the same slanted treatment...
So we have the same font, same colors, almost the same icon(merged letters HF splitting a circle into blue and orange)...if one looks at my entries and the winning entry one will think that they are from the same designer...

I would be glad if you share your thoughts on the above...

Stickie,

The points you raised were difficult ones and led to a great deal of internal discussion amongst those of us behind this contest. Several people believe that you are completely wrong, but that there is no point attempting to discuss this with you because of your clear investment in your position. Others believe that you have raised some valid points about the early rankings of your submissions setting the tones for color, font, etc..

I won't waste your time with the full content of these discussions, except to say that we have altered the way that we will handle contest like this one in the future. I can additionally say that we agree with you on one point. We do feel that the specific rules of this site, especially when followed as suggested, (early and regular ranking being the biggest issue, but not allowing second or third place individuals to further submit any entries in the back end of the contest may have complicated things), are what seem to have led to your complaint.

Beyond that, there is nothing further we can say.

In the future, we will reserve any active ranking of submissions for the first several days, specifically to avoid the problems you raise. It is all we believe we can do from our side of this effort.

On a personal note, I would like to personally apologize for the very late response. I was not authorized to say anything until today, (I suspect in response to your latest statement).
