What We Do
Working across countries and cultures, disciplines and differences, finding common ground, breaking barriers, and moving forward through collaborative and meaningful partnerships are the skills necessary and crucial in leadership. The Harvard Leadership Conference intends to be both a physical and virtual environmental space in which the Harvard Graduate community, encompassing all 12 Harvard Graduate Schools, will be exposed to and actively engage in the foundations and practice of collaborative leadership skills. The conference emphasizes three keys areas: Skills, Studios, and Speakers.
The Harvard Leadership Conference is a participatory, active and engaging conference. The Conference Organizing Committee is utilizing technology, the Internet and the concept of spaces to create an arena in which the experience of collaboration can be maximized for conference participants. Everything from the flow of conference participants in the physical space, to how to connect participants in the virtual space, to the topic areas for participants to discuss in the intellectual space, has been considered.
It is our hope that through this conference, participants can realize the importance of collaboration in leadership and the conference itself can be a stepping stone in providing a foundation of skill sets and thoughts which lead to meaningful change.

Logo Designer
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ You, the Client, are very important! Your active participation is the single greatest factor influencing this contest. Active participation by you, the Client, helps you get the logo design you want!
~~ What's active participation? It's updating the brief with more information for Designers to work with as the contest progresses, providing feedback to Designers on their entries when they're submitted, and ranking designs at least once a day.
~~ When you provide feedback to Designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Rank designs at least once each day -- this will encourage Designers to submit more entries!
~~ Ranking prevents your contest from going idle! Active contests attract more Designers.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed. Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Please note: if you're asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract Designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked Designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" Designers are the first 5 Designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The Designer of the 1st place design will be the only Designer who can submit revisions at that time.

Dear Designers,

Thank you for your submissions so far!

I just wanted to give a friendly reminder to all further submissions that the logo will be housed for this conference for years to come at Harvard University.

Looking forward to see your work and revisions!!!

Dear Designers,

Thanks for your work so far! Please remember that this conference will be attended by both males and females so any images of one gender might alienate the other one (so try to come up with another symbol/image)....

Also the colour combinations were not put in any priority order- feel free to play around with any of these colour combinations:

blue/gold
black/gold
black/blue
blue/silver
black/orange
blue/orange
purple/orange

Dear Designers,

Thanks for your work so far!! While we put some colour combinations for you to work with, we are not married to those colours so please feel free to play with colours that you think will symbolize LEADERSHIP, INNOVATION, COLLABORATION

as for using animals in your logos, here are a couple thoughts:

please consider using animals that symbolize leadership for example, WOLF, TIGER, HORSE or other animals that have a strong leadership quality...

thanks again,
HLC team

Dear Designers,

Working across countries and cultures, disciplines and differences, finding common ground, breaking barriers, and moving forward through collaborative and meaningful partnerships are the skills necessary and crucial in leadership. This conference is about that.

Top Three Things to Communicate through our Logo:
#1 - Leadership
#2 - innovative (innovation)
#3 - collaboration

feel free to message us with your brainstorming ideas...

Dear Designers,

While the majority of our 1-10 rankings exhibit a black/gold colour combination---this is just a coincidence....please remember we are able to see beyond the colour to your logo so DO NOT FEEL CONSTRAINED to use just black/gold...we are putting more emphasis on your image and can always work with you on colour choice later....

Thanks,

Client
Dear Designers,

We want to try to avoid using stick figures of people in the logo - we realize that it helps to represent collaboration but if at all try to avoid it.

when making the logo please think of this logo in terms of timelessness...in 25 years from now will this logo still be as strong and classic? Harvard University is 377 years old so we need a logo that will represent the Harvard Leadership Conference well.

Thanks,
HLC team
