Our initial thought was trying to get a logo similar to the attachment included in the creative brief (the logo from Fulbright & Jaworski), which has basically three rows:
1) "Gregg" (dominant line, in red)
2) "& Turton, L.L.P" (slightly smaller and in a different color, like gray or black)
3) "Attorneys at Law" (much smaller and also in the gray or black).

We still like that idea, but are also intrigued by some of the initial designs from HerDish that have a single line with the much smaller "Attorneys at Law" beneath it. This might look nice at the top of the letterhead and on the masthead for the Web site, which will be one of the main uses for it.

Keep the ideas coming!

One more consideration.... how it looks when rendered in an avatar/icon box on something like Facebook or Twitter. We are hoping to pursue more social media marketing in the future, and a long rectangular logo will not look right in this format.

This was why we had the "wax seal" logo for our first firm (The Law Office of Natalie Gregg), but we don't think that portrayed the professional image that we were seeking, Most law firms just use words and no images.

So, we need a simple looking logo that has some pretty complex strategy behind it. :)

Have fun!

I really like where some of the new designs are headed -- with a strong icon on the left, and then a wordstamp rendering of the name of the firm on the left. This would allow us to use the icon as our avatar (i.e. on Facebook), while using the full logo on our letterhead.

In general, we want to avoid having the "G&T" look too much like a Georgia Tech logo.

Hi ! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.
