Hi there. First entry. Have taken a pair of geeky glasses and turned them into a game controller. Used a heavy bold font for geek to emphasize that part of the name and the other font is set in a manga comic book style font. Altogether the glasses represent geeky, watches TV & movies, plays video games and the comic font covers the manga and comic books part. the black and red also emphasizes the manga part. Another entry. It's cool and slick. Taken the internal parts of the letters away to make it a bit more edgy. The glasses make up the G in the name and the outlined 'for' adds another cool factor to it (the people on the site will be on looking for things that they find cool - hence the link). The outlines are colored RGB which are the colors projected by a screen/TV so there's a link there also.
Some unique approaches here, but neither quite hit the mark. With #13 , I think you're trying to do too much with one logo. Cramming all the different geeky properties into one image. The glasses as a controller doesn't really work, and the use of red makes the d-pad look more like a hospital symbol.
Same thing with #14 . It's a unique approach, but we're looking for something a bit simpler and more straight forward. We don't need to fit every geek category in there. It's also a little hard to read in terms of the outlining on the "for" part. If you look quickly at the logo, it takes a few seconds to register what the name is, and we want instant recognition with our logos.
Again, these are really unique approaches though. Would love to see some more from you. Thanks!
