Discussion

A phrase that most accurately conveys the message for what G.I. Bill Magazine will be all about is its (unofficial) slogan: "Education, Front and Center". We're looking to preserve the integrity of military tradition, as well as paving the path for those looking to move forward and upward in their career through education.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

Thank you for your submissions. Thanks also for submitting distinct images. Entry #3 and #4, we like that you were able to incorporate the American flag/colors into the design. Among our concerns is the silhouettes in the emblems not symbolizing the message of the magazine or addressing its target audience directly. For example the eagle, while patriotic doesn't convey the main themes of "Education, Success and Military/veterans". The focus should be on these things. The words "All American Eagle" are irrelevant to the target audience on #3, and the words on #4 are too small to read.

The text for the words "GI Bill" is a bit generic and we would suggest incorporating a graphic within it, such as the silhouette of a graduate in his cap and gown giving a salute in place of the letter "i" in the word "Bill" (just as a suggestion). Any use of imagery should target veteran and military student directly (emphasis on students).

Note: The GI Bill is an education benefit for veterans and military service members.

#6, we really like where you're going with this. We especially like that the silhoutte you've presented is of a graduate in the position of attention and executing the salute just as we requested. Just a few new changes and modifications: We now ask that the tagline "Education, Front and Center" is removed and replaced with the word "Magazine" instead. Also, we ask that any further submissions removes the period/dots from "G.I." (It would now just be "GI" without the periods). Further, we want there to be a color other than black for the logo. We prefer no vibrant colors, instead please refer to the VA official seal as reference for the color palette we're looking for: http://www.veteranstoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/va_seal_logo.jpg (we're not suggesting you use all, or even multiple, colors - just a reference for the color tone we're after). A navy blue color is preferred above any other color. Thank you again for your submission! We look forward to any additional renditions :)
