The Internet Forms Portal
What We Do
Forms.com is being redesigned to be the single location web surfers can go to find forms of any kind - tax, legal, medical, educational, public, private, and more...
Industry
Internet
Color Preferences
We are looking for a prototype logo from which we will design colors around. Imagine Google or Yahoo in that their sites are quite simplistic in look but powerful in substance. We are creating much the same except that our links are not to web site but to downloadable PDF forms. So be creative. Your logo could have more exposure than all the logos on this site x 1000... imagine having this in YOUR portfolio to show prospective clients!!!
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I want to let the designer have free reign. Remember that this is a search engine where PDF forms and not web site are being retrieved. Other than that... you are on your own to imagine how YOU would want it to look. NOTE: what currently exists on the Forms.com site will NOT be the look of the new site. We will continue to sell legal forms, but will redesign around the new logo and color scheme... so have fun!

PLEASE NOTE: The slogan "The Internet Forms Portal" does NOT need to be part of the logo. It is more important to brand the 'Forms.com" name than anything else.

This is a milion dollar domain name. Any logo I choose to use must be unique and memorable.

Please read my comments on various designs including those that have been rejected for ideas as to what I liked or did not . Perhaps those notes will help inspire the creation of the perfect logo for Forms.com. Thanks

Although I have started to eliminate ideas and keep others, I do not think I am close yet to a logo I can actually use -- or rank. I like the attempt on #12 to create a symbol that emobodies the F in Forms AND conveys the concept of forms at the same time. I would like to see a logo that could mold them together in the name rather than have text and symbol seperate. I am looking to have a logo that can be quickly identified and remind people of the site without being a member of MENSA. I am sure someone can do this. I would like to take that symbol and perhaps use it through out the site (perhaps as a bullet or something else).

I have also had some tell me they like #7 although I am not sure why other than the eagle. I think If we were only about governmental forms, perhaps. But we are attracting the masses and I want a friendlier cooler look.

I realize that many entries come in close to the deadline. I would like to discourage this as I will be reluctant to declare a winner that send 10 variations on the same theme at the last second without my having the opportunity to work with the designer to flesh out an idea that shows promise. To date, I am disappointed at the quantity of unique ideas to choose from. Getting 5+ subtle differences in the same basic logo is, for me, a single entry. Certainly I understand that each version is different and it does make it easier to say which I like vs which I do not. However, I want to see a variety of unique ideas that come from various directions. I think from my comments, I have provided enough of a framework where there should be 300+ entries... so whats the holdup. Is the most visible website contestant on this site the hardest to find creative ideas? I certainly hope not. Enter early and enter often. Thanks.

I have dns my best to remove those ideas which are way off track. I chose to rank the remaining as they all have qualities I like and dislike. I'm hoping in these last 24 hours a wave of fresh ideas using this as a guide can offer the right mix I seek in a logo.

I have been asked by a few to extend the contest. I am reluctant to do so unless I see a significant number of new entries before the deadline. If there are more entries, then I will consider one extension.

Some rankings are now online. Do not rely exclusively on them as the ranked items are in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. They are simply those that I and others have found more interesting than others. But there are features from other ideas that have been attractive to many... reflections, fonts, colors, logo marks, etc...

I will likely extend the deadline to permit a more narrow focus of ideas based on styles that have been ranked or NOT excluded to help narrow our choices and make the most appropriate decision.

Appropriate and TRUE RANKING will be made at the end of the contest.

I have made comments and requests from some designers already. Some have been read and adjustments have been made to the betterment of their idea. Others apparently have not been read and thus their promising logo ideas will likely fail in the end since they were unwilling to make the adjustments and style changes I thought would help improve their idea. Those who read those comments should benefit greatly!!! Food for thought. Thanks to all who have submitted ideas to date... it is clear that many of you have actually put some thought into this (of course, others either copied ideas they had already submitted to other contests, or took no time at all to create their ideas... and it showed) :)

Its not that designer deliberately submit their design at the end moment....we also work hard to win.
sometimes we miss the contest just bcoz there r too many....
but when the deadline comes ,we observe them coz they r on the top of contest list.
And if we can think anything good then we do submit our designs....
CH can always extend the contest if they like the concept and want the design to be revised. And by that time he gets more designs flowing in.

Thanks. I intend to do just that... extend the deadline. Getting more than 60% of the entries in the last 24 hours is unfair to the first entries. Of course, first entries get the best feedback IF they continue to work on their design while late entries must settle for only one shot at the prize. Still, a hungrier designer is often a better designer as they will take more time and attempt to engage in as many contests as possible and as early as possible.

Note that if the CH made up his mind, only the 1st rank can submit revisions when the contest is over.

Hello,

I submitted a logo also, please consider it - #112
I decided to participate in this contest at the last moment, but I hope you will like my design.

Thank you.

I'm curious as to why no one has tried to design a concept the incorprates a Submit or some other type of forms completion button. I realize that most PDFs do not have buttons but the concept of an electronic form or web based form does. This may be in the minority of forms we would link to but I would think the association would still be there. #115 comes close but I don't think that it was intentional. Anyone game to see if that might be the way to number 1? Good luck.

Those concepts which have promised have not been rejected. Those that are off base with our needs are rejected. This system does not allow me to group favorites together without giving artificial numeric rankings. I will only do that when judging. Therefore I have the top 20+ in the running out of over 150. If my notes were not read and a concept is still submitted that ignores my suggestions or demographics, that designer should not be surprised if I'm not interested. I'm not your graphic design teacher grading your on your artistic and creative ideas. I am a business owner with a specific need to be filled. I don't like wasting time on ideas that are more about the designer and not the client.

Of course the other reason is that it is not fair for a last second designer copying a concept from someone else by using the numeric ranking system as a guide. This ways makes it a bit harder to do that. However, a smart person can tell which ideas have promise and which do not from the remaining viable ideas.

Most forms that would be ordered online are important...hence the paper shredder idea :-)

Thank you all for the terrific submissions and putting up with my critiques and suggestions. Some clearly had put out the effort. Those that read my comments and requests clearly improved on their concepts and have made this very hard for me when the judging truly begins. I have relied on many different people from various backgrounds to check on your ideas and provide me with their input... clearly the late submissions may suffer from not being part of that mix... so they would truly have to knock my socks off to get my nod... but I hold out hope that that could happen. Anyway, thanks again for all of your hard work... almost all of you deserve to remain gainfully employed as graphic designers!!! Hang tough.
