The Logo shouldn't have text underneath. It is meant to replace the exisitng Hyundai logo.

I got the idea after talking to the Hyndai dealer where people are taking the logo off and putting another brand on the car. Since I am planning on using this for my car, I don't see any problems with Hyundai. Am I missing something?

That correct. Replace the existing logo that comes with the car.

Let's design a really cool logo that other owners will want to buy and replace the logos on their car and perhaps even get Hyundai to take notice and consider updating their logo.

But if your are going to market it, you'll end up with problems....Hyundai spent millions developing a marketing strategy, that included their logo/ID....they are not going to change over a simple low budget Logo Contest. And they will protect their brand legally. I think its fine on your car, but marketing it would be dangerous ground.

Glad someone else thinks this is v risky also. I can understand a new design for your own car, but marketing this idea afterwards smacks of copyright law-suits with Hyundai. I mean, they already own the name, and of course the product. If this contest was done through the Hyundai corporation themselves, it would feel ok.

May I ask what is the reason behind this contest? Is there a major disagreement going on in the Auto-trade scene that I have missed?

Does the Hyundai corporation know of this logo contest?

All he's doing is asking for a personalized piece of jewelery to put on his car. :)

Question: Where on the car are you putting it on? Hood? Grill? Are you replacing the grill?

Do you have car emblems or other emblems you like we can think of for inspiration?

What's all the worry about? Why would Hyundai care if he replaced (or sold pieces for others to replace) the emblem on his car? He'll already have purchased the car - which is what I'm sure Hyundai's only concern is. It's just like any other modification.

The primary purpose of this contest is for my personal use. I will be replacing the hood and the trunk logos as well the steering wheel and possibly the wheels. It is a very easy thing to do and people actually provide logo replacement as a service here in LA. There are many autos shops for Porsche and Mercedes where they tune up the car and then replace the logo with their own so don't worry about any legal concerns since I will not be doing anything that is illegal.

I've been looking at car emblems and while they are not inspirational, I like Mercedes, Audi, Niassan, Mini, BMW.

You guys are doing a great job! I am having a very hard time ranking, but keep them coming.

Ok. This is really cool to see designers from all around the worls.
To focus on a design that I liked and would work well for the car, I ranked only the top 10 for now.

Awesome idea.
