Hi there,

Hope your having a good week so far?

Here are some of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.

The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,

It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say.
I look forward to your comments or thoughts.

Regards,
Angus

We LOVE this! Can you give some versions that is a bit more color varied in muted browns/greys? Take a look at Hootsuite or shortstack logos

Hi there,

Thanks again for the comments.

Here are 3 iterations ...
All three has slightly varied colours schemes. I think personally my favourite combination is #72
What I've also tried is to add subtle detail in the face ...
#71 is as per the original blue one
#72 has more depth in the eye and
#73 has the eye but also a slight mouth

I look forward to your thoughts.

Cheers

A few more colour combinations of the simpler version (no mouth or detailed eye) ...

Great stuff angus! Can you omit the .com and perhaps choose a font that's got a bit more personality?

Also perhaps one with the traditional yellow and or gold miner's hat

Not a problem at all ...

Here are a few variations. Each has a slightly different colour and font style.
If there is a specific style of font that jumps out do say and I'll see if I have more to compare with.
Of course if there is one already then perfect :)

Look forward to your thoughts.

Hi Angus:

We like the mouth feature on #73. It look a little more complete. Can you do this on #84? Thanks!

Of course would be a pleasure ...

And here it is. I've added the mouth and also a slight detail in the hat (to give some depth - but not too much).

Look forward to your thoughts.

Hi Jason,

If you'd like to see any other iterations do say and I'll happily work them up.

Have a great rest of your Monday.

Hi Angus:

You're design is still ranked first but the reservation we have with it is:

1. Will it be recognizable when shrunk to a 16 by 16 favicon?

2. Don't think the font is distinct enough to stand on its own.

Hi there,

Thanks for the comments ...

Because of the clean lines and simplicity of the icon, I don't think there would be an issue when its shrunk to 16x16. The more detailed things go, the less you'll see when its that small. That's also why I did just the head, for that reason, so when it does go small you can still make things out.

Regarding the font, I can have a play around not a problem at all ... Is there anything specific / ideas you had you'd like to see explored? Or would you like me to experiment?

Cheers

Hi there,

Hopefully your having a good Tuesday?
And hopefully saw my earlier comments?

Here are a few creative options for the font - making it completely custom in most instances, and therefore a bit more unique. Hope you like them.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Great changes Angus! One minor point. The emphasis is on "digs" not "dig". In other words it's pronounced digs-ly not dig-sly

Hi there,

Sorry my mistake completely - to be honest I did look at it, and think that's an odd slip but never but two and two together, think it was getting late my side :)

Will amend those for you and re-submit soon.

And here is a new iteration with the focus on "digs".
