Hello Darryl,

Thank you for considering my work, about how I design, gradients are not my number 1 choice for logo work in my professional opinion solids are best, though I do use gradients. Yes the yes the eye candy effect look good but distracting and taking away from the simplicity and beauty of a design. Solids catch the eye faster than a complicated gradient such as my #11. I'll upload a solid version of #11 for comparison.

Hi Scott,

Thank you for taking the time to submit your work. I like you work very much! Here are my thoughts on your three options:

Entry 8, I like it just as it is.

Entry 11, The colors are the perfect shades of black and gold that I want. Although I know you don't like gradients, it is eye candy. If I chose this design, there are some changes I would suggest. This is my first time using this site and I don't want to ask for changes and make extra work for designers until I've narrowed the choices down. I think that's the considerate and appropriate way to proceed.

Entry 12, Here, I like the simplicity that you described in your note. The only issue with this entry is (and it could just be the way my imagination works) my initials look like a wig to me. Similar to 18th century US colonists. That's a simple fix, and the entry, as is, conveys the idea of the design. It's very good.

Again, thank you for submitting your work and send me your thoughts. I appreciate it very much! Your work is terrific!

no worries you can ask for what ever changes you'd like to see , it is up to each individual to do revision or not, as you can I put a lot of time here in on LT and I ave no issue with revisions

so please any suggestion youy'd like to see let's do it.

Ok great! On Entry #11 put the name on the bottom and remove Media Productions. Then, instead of a circle, try an alternate shape. Make it vertical or horizontal. Make sense? Thanks!

Hi Scott, #40, #41 & 47 I like a lot! You can tell by where they rank. Thanks for those!

Regarding #52 & 53 the wolf (or coyote) and crescent moon don't connect with me. I like bulls, charging bulls especially. If you have an idea that clicks there that would be cool. Again, thanks for your continued efforts and terrific work!

Scott, I'm running out of adjectives, but suffice it to say I really like your work! I'm drawn towards logos that have some entertainment reference, like the tv in #41 & #47 as well as logos that are just an interesting use of my name and letters. #40 splits the difference. Very strong. Thanks!

Hi Scott,

I'm trying to catch up here and seeing that you're a seasoned designer here on LT I'm not sure about the protocol of the top 5 phase. I want to engage my top 5 designers but LT is still allowing new submissions. I going to contact support because I want to be fair but I also want to make my decision. Also for, any updates from designers, like you, who are real contenders, I want to give you specific direction before you go any further so we're clear on what changes I'm looking for. Make sense?

Top 5 is exactly what it means you can shuffle people around and move those in Top 5 out of top 5 and move other in. it happens all the time.

Also you can also have admin post a comment about not wanting new designs during top 5, this has been done before but it rarely happens that a CH (contest holder does that

you can post you own comment on the main contest page that you are not looking for new design just tweaks on the existing top 5.

hope this helps

Hi Scott,

Let me begin by saying, again, your designs are terrific! My dilemma is that I've asked for, and received, media and entertainment logos. I work in the entertainment industry as a producer and my business is expanding into other entertainment areas.

Additionally, I need to take control of my personal brand. I've been torn over weather or not to have two separate logos, or one universal design that could work in multiple industries and still be recognized as my brand.

The feedback from my team about your logo is, as you said, it's clean, no gradients, will translate well to stationary, white backgrounds, the font you use for my name is terrific etc. The question is, do I want to use the version with the antenna? I think I'm now leaning towards no. #40 is quickly becoming stronger to me, although I prefer both without the "media productions" below.

If any of this helps to spark a new idea, I'm open to it! But #40 & #41are just fantastic! Let me know if you have any questions for me. Thanks!

NO antenna is my choice however the antenna could be used for something specific but not a main identity

if I may be so bold, it seems there is an identity crisis in terms of personal brand, I know what that is like in my early days I started out as The Sleeping Dog too personal, then switched to EastCoastCreative even worse too generic, too long, geographically limiting and boring. Jan of this year I decided on a new fresh identity which is britepencil. I thought about using my name but squashed immediately because it too limiting a lot of designers use their own name but is it an identity?. I want something that was more open

My question is do you want to be DMB or have company name that is not your name?

Eureka moment! I knew there was reason why I was highlighting the letter M I just did now why until now. I get why you are using your name and maybe you've not realized this either. The letter M why was this imporant to be since I've been highlighting it.

Drum Role.... MEDIA lets strip away all the other stuff and concentrate on M , no antennae or tv boxes a simple clean underline the "M" can be used as a stand alone icon, it's bold, fresh clean and universal for a brand identity that can easily be adapter to divisions. .

Man! I've got to hand it to you. The "M" is a a bold idea. I get it as a concept and I can see a fortune 500 roll out of a new marketing campaign. Seriously! But...I can't do it.

The way you've been highlighting the "M" is very cool, but on a personal level, I don't identify with the "M" as much. Everyone who knows me, and has called me "D" my entire life would say..huh? LOL

Bottom line, #40 & #41 are AWESOME! I'm going to stop trying to improve on what I know I absolutely like and just say thank you! Really. I even like the idea of using the logo and just changing the color of the "M" for different purposes.

If you can give me #40, without "media productions" like in #47, I think that's the final change and I'll need to make a decision.

THANK YOU!!

Hi Scott,

The real drum roll.....YOU WIN! Just well done Scott. The overall feedback of your design was that it was clean and most importantly for a personal brand, felt warm. It was such a difficult decision, but in the end, for the reasons I started the contest, your design reflected the original purpose with a great outcome. Thank you!
