What We Do
D.C. Farm to School Week will be a celebration of fresh, healthy, locally-grown foods in D.C. schools October 11-15th, 2010. We will 1) serve and highlight farm-fresh foods in D.C. school cafeterias; 2) organize field trips to local for kids to experience growing and harvesting local foods; and 3) organize in-school chef demonstrations of simple, replicable recipes.
Industry
Non-Profit
Color Preferences
Fun, fresh, youthful, bright colors like blue, green, yellow and orange.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We hope to highlight apples during D.C. Farm to School week because they are widely available locally and also are an understood symbol of education, so perhaps the logo could incorporate apples! Other seasonal, local foods available during the Week will include pears, winter squash, kale, collards, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, zucchini, broccoli, onions & lettuce

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

42studio I love your logos! #10 is great - same feel as the D.C. Farm to School Network logo, simple, fun. I like the second one, but perhaps without the diagonal writing... that's difficult for little kids to read.

42Studio - I think you were right the first time, the wording fits in nicely diagonal. Can you please make #9 so that the D and the K don't reach all the way to the outside of the apple? And if there's any way you could make it slightly less diagonal, but still on a slant (just so that it's easier to read) that would be great! Thank you.
