Hi Meepo... I like your designs...

In particular I like the font of #78, and the "jolly rogers" made with fork and spoon of #15.

I think it could be used in the 2 forms: name+hat on top, or just hat + fork and spoons when needed a squared logo.

Could you please let me have your opinion: which one of your designs do you like best? ;)

I do like the Century Gothic #78 modern style font it has clear line and tidy rather than the others #50 font was made for modern classic feeling..
the symbol and the font are balanced well, it can be used for branding purpose like you said:
- symbol + business name (horizontal) or
- symbol on top + business name underneath (vertical) or
- business name only or
- symbol only

The Jolly Rogers idea can be used as an accessories and standalone without the business name.
maybe if it is a general kitchen tools you can use spoon + fork,
for bakery you can use baking tools, for cutting you can use knife combinations, etc..
to clearly divide each section.

I personally like the best #78, second best #50, its definitely simple and clean.

yes, you can complete the contest, choose the winning logo and I will upload the entry as I'm only able to upload 1 EPS and 1 Jpg file..
after that I will email you the white background version of #78, entry #97, and white background version of entry #97.

also even after complete the logo, feel free to let me know if you would like to change to any color options.
