Logo Designer
the icon (pararel circle) reflected a process from C.R.E.A.T.E with the new teaching aprroach. 6 circle symbolize the 6 element from C.I.R.C.L.E.

Hi
Very cool design. i like it; would like to see others from you if possible. We are also interested in seeing some with different (more unusual) fonts, also in something more explicitly 'biological' or 'science' related.

Like the dots and the representation of process very much. Would be interested in other symbols that could 'morph' over 6 representations; maybe a blooming flower? or------?

Would also be interested in two or three colors (maybe green and/or purple with the blue?)

thanks

Hi
Thanks for this design.
I like this idea. The font reads a little "feminine" to me and I wonder if there is another font that is quirky but not necessarily girly. Or maybe if the letters were a bit wider

Also interested in blue or purple flower/yellow center and different shade of blue or green lettering

I like that the flower reads 'biology'

thanks, i will develop more variation for you.

Thanks for the new designs.
#34 and 35 read "Physics/atomic energy" more than Biology to me. I don't think that is the logo for us.

I like the lettering in 35; the "R" in #26 is not clear enough to me, and the logo in 27 is a bit too abstract.

I am going to post a general comment to all designers about shortening our tag line

For reasons related to our approach (that you wouldn't know about), the logo in 35 isn't right for us, but I like the idea of something asymmerical and multipart.

Hi
Like #42 a lot. Font very interesting and the leaves are nice. Would be interested in a bit of 'change' in the leaves to reflect process (sort of like 23). Or maybe a 23 version with a bud going to a blooming flower?
We are walking a fine line between showing biology and looking too artsy/craftsy

By the way #35 would be great except in our teaching approach there is a "concept map" exercise where logos like the one you drew are considered "inadequately developed concept maps". That's the only reason that one is ranked low.

Please also see the updated brief to all designers--we have a new tag line Transform Understanding of Science and we will NOT be spelling out each step (too much...the Consider, Read etc)

Thanks and look forward to more!

in this logo/icon, i want to deliver the "concept map" as the teaching approach , still in the "biology" theme (tree & leaves).

design concept variation from #60

Hi
I think the concept map inside the leaf doesn't really work (concept map is more interconnected and the leav in the "O" somehow isn't working for me. Creative approach though. I wonder if you could try some variations on 42, 23, 24.

You have done this with 59 and I like that the leaf is more identifiable but I like the shape better in 42 where the leaves are not forming another C. This one (59) starts to look a bit like a laurel wreath to me.
Still interested in representation of process; ie not all leaves same size, or bud shifting into a flower, or--?

Just looked at them again; 60 is interesting as well. I want to see what my collaborator thinks of that one. But I think my suggestion at the top (some combo of 42, 23, 24) would work better for me.
thanks!

Hi
I like a lot of yours--I'm still interested in a version of 24 (the red flower) in different color; like blue petals or a variety of shades of blue

and with our new tag line "Transform Understanding of Science"

Wonder if a wing motif could work with one of your designs as well

thanks!

new design with wing motif like your directions before, wing incorporated with leaf ( wings as the leaf bone).
leaf reflect biology / science, wings reflect progress, process & spirit )

Hi
I like the wing, #83 and would like to see it with a thinner circle. Like the way the wing overlaps the circle

would be interested in mirror image wing on other side in a new design (maybe that would be too much but I'd still be interested in seeing one with 2 wings

Also possibly one with size of wing motif increased maybe 25%

Also the type for Transform Understanding is a little thick/crowded--would be interested in that being thinner

are 80 and 81 the same? maybe I am missing something. I think yellow center in those flowers would help (I know we said no yellow but in this case I think some contrast would be good

I still like 76 77 59--would be interested in 76 or 77 with more leaf detail as in 59

A lot of friend feedback is in support of #23--could you do a version of that with the 'new' font (like in 76 and 77( and new tagline Transform understanding of Science?

THANKS!!

Just realized 42 and 5 have different leaf arrangement. like it better on 5 but with the words from 42 (I know you were showing process with shape growth but it gets crowded

What about # 5 with 'blank' leaf in the back and an increasingly detailed leaf toward the front?

about #80 & #81, #81 designed by other designer but using same concept with me, thats should not allowed here, i hope you understand that. i will keep working & developing all possibilities for your logo asap:) thanks

Hi
Not quite
I was thinking of logo C.R.E.A.T.E. reverse logo

so the wings were on either side of the word CREATE (one wing on each side)

This one (115) doesn't work for me.

The leaves on 42, 76 and 108 are all different. I like the shape of the logo and of the set of 6 leaves best in 42. Might be OK as is but I wonder about adding detail to the leaves (without changing overall shape) or maybe shifting tones of green? It is OK if they remain mixed sizes (IE they don't have to go small to large as in 108--it doesn't seem as nicely proportioned as 42.

thanks

got that!, will do the new option asap:)

option for #42, adding detail to the leaves without changing overall shape..

119 was what what I was thinking. Would like to see it with slightly larger wings and or with wings at a slight angle. Need to see what my collaborator thinks of that

I like 120--still has the 6 leaves, has detail. Needs the different tag line "Transform Understanding of Science" maybe in thinner font than the current tag line.

thanks for these!

Got any variations on 106? That is a very popular one and i'd be interested in how you might tweak it

I like the larger wings. Thanks for both of these new ones

I think the thinner tagline font should be 'straight' like the CREATE font. NOT necessarily the same font but not curvy.....at least I would like to see that.

I think I still like 106 better than 133 or 132
I thought I would like the thin all caps font but because there are a lot of letters I think it' s more readable in 106. The thin all caps looked better when we had a different, shorter tagline
Is there a 'straighter' font like in 106 for the tagline? (like without curves in 'g' and 'f'?) Maybe not....

Thanks for tweaking 106----
133 is a little 'busy' and it's not clear what the spheres are-- and I don't like the 'flattened' effect in 132 as well as the simpler 106

What about shading the circles dark to iight or vice versa?

Or showing them as dividing cells; 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc (If you google on 'embryonic cleavage' you will see what I mean.) That would reference dividing fertilzed eggs--my collaborator might think it was too literal but it might be worth a try

thanks

embryonic cleavage concept, maybe too busy but that have cool concept

(This comment references Entry #136)

#135 like the tiny straight font.
Is that one shaded? almost too subtle--I think solid is probably better

Embryonic cleavage--it would be simpler to try with the first one solid (one cell, then 2, 4, 8, 16, 32. The thing is, each would still be round; ie you are only dividing up the same size circle with more lines. Outline of circle stays exactly the same. I have not heard back from my collaborator re whether she likes this idea but if you google xenopus frog early cleavage stages you will see what i mean. (it wouldn't have to literally go to 16 32, but just look more divided up) (this is of course re 137 136)

not a fan of the tiny font on the new 'wings' one--it is too NASA for our taste (134)
Would be interested in color variations on 135 (maybe CREATE in green?)
thanks

Just talked to my collaborator who is a fan of #60 because "trees keep growing"

wonder if you could do a variation on this one; with the new font on the tagline and maybe a solid ring surround (rather thana the two tone) or a ring that the tree is growing 'through' (like on your other tree (61). My problem with 61 is that the tree 'reads' a little like a leaf.

but keep the concept map reference inside.....! I would also be interested in one that had both a tree and an acorn, not sure where the acorn would go.....

thanks

wow, 142 143 very nice (are they same? I am missing the diff). It would be even better if the lines dividing the cells were darker blue or gray or black. Darker blue would be most realistic. White is too bright

this really says 'growth/development/increasing complexity' to me

would be interested in different color combos of these; darker blue CREATE or different green CREATE
I like the aqua embryos

Logo Designer
no. #142 have circle outline, and #143 not.

if you want the lines that dividing the cells have colors, that logo will be not works on black/white aplication and will be just a plain logo (without the dividing, exactly will be like #102) do you still want them have color? :)

sorry, exactly like #106 if in B/W format.

oh...could they have black or grey or is it the same problem? But why do i need to worry about b/w format or is that usually how its done (ie do people make sure the picture reads both ways?) (I'm still here for 10 min or so )

Or maybe put it on a grey background?

142 circle outline is preferable
I missed that before
