Curious if anyone uses any of the services such as Mozy or Carbonite, etc. Care to share thoughts, experiences, recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

I use Mozy for the Mac and it's easy to use and cheap. It might take a few weeks or more to upload all of your stuff though.

I tried Carbonite..and I liked it but personally I am not keen on storingproject files on a cloud storage server....ya just dont know where those files are no matter how secure the company say the system is...

best thing is to have a secondary computer and rigged as back up only you can t do this 2 ways use the bulit in SATA Raid which MOBOs have now or purchase a dedicated raid card around 500 bucks and up

I use the built in RAID plus if you can locate your second system to another location thats even more secure, or place the back up in the opposite end of the house

so what I have is a cost effect solution

Many thanks for the info. I have been a little lax in my storage recently and am wanting to tidy things up. I live in earthquake country, so in addition to having back-up in case of crash-related disaters, I'm feeling like I should have some sort of off-site solution.

I recently got the Time Capsule external drive thingy and hope to duplicate some important files on other family computers and an old firewire drive just in case as well. We have to evacuate for hurricanes every other summer or so (and with this heat I have a feeling this will be one of those summers.) I need something I can throw in the trunk of the car in a hurry. It's also a good idea to have at least some crucial stuff on something that is unplugged most of the time. We get storms here like crazy, especially this time of year. I hate summer. At least, unlike earthquakes, we always see the hurricanes coming. Not the lightning strikes, though.
If my business ever grows substantially I'm sure I'll get some kind of off site backup solution in place.

I am currently using http://www.humyo.com/ for backup.....I only store documents and project files, so 5gb [having a free account] space currently enough for me although not sure what happen if they just change their terms/conditions and prevent me to access the account anymore in future without having a paid account!!

Rock-solid backup drives are available for this kind of situation, I'm sure I've seen one before but I don't remember.
