Hello did anyone know any software to recover (or at least force copy partial data ) from an external harddrive,.. all i need to copy is one folder only that contain my dayjob data in it..

my wdc passport (not going to trust this brand again! i have a seagate that have far longer lifetime and not failed even once) just failed to read properly, it can open some folders but after few second it just make that notorious clicking sound and struggling to read..

I have tried spinrite, getdataback, even put in in fridge... but nothing has worked yet...
I have consider to send it to some local data recovery center - but hearing other ppl experience in my area about the service-price-success rate which not very good... i kinda want to find alternative option first...

so if anyone know any software or method that i could try, could you pls share it here..

million thanks in advance.

Here data recovery centers can be very expensive, but sometimes you only pay if they can recover something.

the one that closest to me charge by the size of the hardrive, and other than some 'inspection fee' they also won't charge if they cannot do it they say... hopefully they could.
