If you look at www.saygiants.com The "G" in giants is the main part as that exact G is the letter we put on our baseball caps so it is important if you could use that font for the "G". I would be willing to look at other possibilities if they caught my eye and could be incorporated for the cap as well.

your very welcome GONorth, however being sarcastic doesnt help any. I have been leaving comments and have not gotten to yours yet. But f you must have it right now. Your design was ok, but I am looking for something more eye catching. I felt it was too plain with too simple of a font.

I always try to thank the Contest Holder if they give good feedback, and in my case I didn't realize you wanted to keep the same font and "G" (which makes my initial design obsolete, thus the "oops").

Guys, not to rain on anyone's parade here, but 7 of the CH's top 9 designs incorporate a "Giants" script that is proprietary to the San Francisco MLB club. While I personally have always loved that script and while I've looked at CH's contest brief and realize that this script may be part of what he's asking for, it's still a pretty blatant appropriation of prior works, which could open CH up to a lawsuit for copyright violation.

DP you are wrong. The script is NOT proprietary to any baseball team. I had the logo that is currently on my website already approved by the SF Giants back in 2001. However we moved from one town to another so we need it updated .
In their letter they clearly stated the logo was 100% ok to use as the font although similiar it was not copyrighted or trademarked.
Their official copyrighted logo is one of block lettering right on the main page of their website.
However, you can also use that font. Just cant have the same logo. Or intend to defraud or make money off it. We are a non-profit organizat

Before you make ridiculous allegations first see that you are speaking the truth. Your not even a designer so please mind your own business

Hello, every thanks for the designs they are really good. Just so you know, I will rank almost every entry so that eveyone at least is a finalist and get some points.

I really havent ranked them seriously at this point. However, I would say that the top 5 will get serious consideration for the winning design.

No problem, CH... if the SF Giants gave their okay, then obviously, it's okay.

Having been party to multiple copyright infringement suits (all as plantiff, thank you!), I just didn't want to see you have such a problem.

Well, the San Francisco Giants aren't sue happy and they dont need to go after a non profit organization that promotes baseball and allows more people to play baseball. In actuality they like to help teams with sponsorship, uniforms, baseballs and equipment. The generally give their ok to little league, babe ruth, Ripken baseball, Jr. Legion, American Legion and many semi pro and adult baseball leagues. It benefits them in more ways than just 1. So to answer your question yes we have been fully approved for all of that. However as it was stated the font is not copyrighted and the Giants didnt originally make that font. They got it from someone else as well.
The St Louis Cardinals and the Arizona Cardinals, the NY Giants in football and the SF Giants and any other teams that share a name would be suing each other if this was the case.
