Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Thanks for the hints. I'll be sure to keep the information in mind when I rank the designs.

I like the picture of the padlock. The one thing I do want to see is the full company name SECURITY-FIRST.NET (doesn't have to be all caps) in the design. I want the full name so people realize they need to go to the .net site and not .com or .biz by accident.

I really like the text style and that is what made me realize I need to have the full company name in the logo design. I like the color scheme of the emblem and would like to see any other ideas you may have for the emblem, to give me a better sense of where I want to go.

I'll start ranking the entries after the first five submissions.

I like the previous design you submitted (#2), where the emblem was on top and the company name below.

I can respond to all 3 entries since they are by the same person. You are going in the right direction with the logo emblems. I really like #5 and #6.

#6 - shouldn't the lock be "locked" as opposed to "unlocked"...

Just some food for thought.

I think the effect works better unlocked. Shows control over security. Of course I'm sure the designer can slide it locked in seconds

I also think the effect works better unlocked. It gives the impression that your network isn't safe until the security is applied.

Is very interesting. I like how the lock takes the shape of an "S" and the "1" is at the bottom 1/2 of the lock.

Wouldn't an unlocked lock be less secure than a locked lock? It implies more of a gap in security than a control over it. Think about it.

That is true, you can look at it both ways. I guess it all depends on how a person interprets the lock. I think the unlocked lock would cause a person to become curious and ask questions. My response would be the beginning of the sales pitch.

And that's why the client is always right :)

That is a really cool design, I hadn't thought about putting binary code in the lock itself. That conveys security and information systems with one emblem.

Glendon let me know that it's easier on the designers if I leave my comments on their pages. I'll make sure I do that and I'll also continue to leave general comments on my contest page.

I see that one of the designers had their work removed due to losing a "Logo Court" dispute. I'm assuming the logo remembled a design by someone else?

#18 and #40 are in a dead heat and several other submissions are close behind. The rankings could change again as I continue to re-evaluate which logo will work best for me.

I'm starting to think I may need more than one logo. There are several designs that I like which would work well in different situations.
