I've noticed that horizontal logos without solid color backgrounds may be easier and less intrusive to insert as a "watermark" on color and black & white photographs. Vertical or square logos may need to be reduced in size to fit proportionately, reducing the readability of text. Please don't let this prevent you from creating a vertical logo if you have a great idea or concept!

To clarify on my part, my implementation of the logo as a "watermark" would be placing the logo in a corner or bottom of the photograph with only slight transparency.
