Color Preferences
A two color logo is what we "think" we want. We don't like trendy. We definitely want a white background. Not interested in colored backgrounds.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We want the words OnPointe to be one word -there must be a difference in the color or font of the O and N for the word On and the E at the end of Pointe . We want people to see the One made out of OnPointe.

Wow, a fast start for sure just a few hours have passed. We like the 'dot' impression but are not married to it making our point. (Pun intended) We definitely like to see the ON and the ending E in different colors, designs, etc as in #1 and #2.

To all the designers, we have a team of three that are reviewing this, so we meet and will update each evening with our comments, ranking and input. This is SO exciting. Thank you all for having fun with us in clarifying for us how others will see our dynamic organization!

While these are all very creative, we still aren't seeing the "it" factor for us. Perhaps a bit more about us will help - we are experienced professionals that support and train organizations and their people to find new ways to communicate and find solutions, make action plans and take steps forward to find a common point towards mutual results - probably too many words there. We have a lot of fun and our customers are engineers, law firms, manufacturers, school principals or superintendents - smart, analytical, fun while still very responsible people. We like the subtlety of the OnPointe name showing we are on point and ready to go and that it is about coming to one point together. Hope this helps - love to see "more". We are liking the blue, the red, the black, the orange and the green as colors thus far! Feel free to use two, three or four colors! Would like to see some exploration of fonts; two fonts, serifed fonts, custom letters? Surprise us! Thanks again for your contributions, keep em coming!

Thank you Tilly - it feels like we are ON the road now! We just figured out how to click on the submission and leave comments directly with you!

Designers please NOTE - we are ranking things and finding it very difficult to say what is "the" best right now - if you withdraw something prior to the close you may be withdrawing the one we really liked. Why withdraw so early???

Are we allowed to use gradients and shine? Coz having gradients will use more colors. Lets say Orange going to yellow. Dark blue going to Lite Blue, red going to orange.

Concept_One - show us whatever strikes you. We know what we do and clearly you all know best what you do. We are delighted, surprised and as the start of day two approaches this contest, amazed at all the styles and thoughts. I don't know if other contest holders are as delighted as we are. Our team gets together each evening at 8 PM Central on a conference call to discuss our ranking and comments - so be patient if you dont get an immediate ranking or hear right away from us. We are ALL tuning in repeatedly during the day to peek in on what's showing up. VERY COOL!

We are really liking the subtlety of the idea of a lot of today's submissions. The clarity of the idea of a group of people coming together to one point and be onpointe in their own ways, the forward movement, the upward movement, the excitement of discovering "I" (as me) in the middle of the onpointe - all of it excellent, excellent. VERY hard to choose, thankfully we have a few days to let things settle in to steep and grow.

Another great day of lots of creative thot - and wonderful additions. Since everyone is playing so well with our company name, one of our team members wants to see a compass somewhere. Great job, don't give up we are not saying no to anything at this point just letting it all percolate. Our full team couldn't meet tonight so our bigger shuffle and update will be tomorrow. Thank you to each of you for sharing your talent.

Wow - to say we are overwhelmed is an understatement - we see so much in everyone's creativity. Fabulous! Our clients are intelligent, open minded, engaged learners - they are the movers and the shakers of the world. They lead by example and are very dynamic, not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done within their organizations. We like the solidness of many of your logo submissions. Also, we've learned we like the OnPointe or the onpointe version of our name. Traditional serifed fonts are fine, yet we seem to keep seeing and picking san serif fonts. Your guess is as good as ours. Clever and subtle has been very well received by our team as well. We will be ranking again tonight - for now we've moved over alot of the newer submissions up front to make it easier for the team to view them and place them. Thank you again for all your great work - seriously - blown away by how many talented people are out here submitting!

Hughes Design you are absolutely right. And I would add that making our life easier makes the CH's final product more of a succes.

Well - it's Saturday and our contest closes on Monday around noon central time. At this point we are going to meet and discuss our top twenty favorites and begin to narrow those down by asking some of our clients for their opinions - after all, it's us we are reflecting and them we are attracting. Yes? Our feedback will be spent working with those designers in the top 20 - if we need to extend the contest, we will. While we love so much of all of it, we still haven't gotten that - holy cow that is SO it factor. At this point, I'm uncertain if that's even a plausible concept. We knew it when we landed on the name tho. We are now using words like timelessness, or does it mimic someone else's logo too closely or cause a confusion in trademarking, will it look good in black and white in workbooks for professionals, does the logo bug separate well and will it be useful without our name in a variety of ways. Are the colors trendy enough to cause us to pause? Why is it the designers are telling us all small letters versus our original OnPointe version, what are we learning, loving and leaning in to? What are we resisting - that I know... I can tell you that the OP or P1 kinds of things aren't us. Ocean Pacific and P1 gives us shades of pee 1 (a whole nuther story about that). Some of the compasses remind us of Chrysler, Mercedes, martial arts stars, clocks or half empty gas gauges. Alot of the font choices strike us as too full, too chubby, kerning toooo close together also jogs our eyes and causes pausing of hmm, nope. We've liked the blues, blacks, greens, cranberry reds and oranges. We trend towards cooler tones with warmer toned accents. I've already told you about the sans serif v serif fonts so I won't blather that again. There is a boldness some of us like and yet another likes the creative more flowing elements. We truly do "get" all of them up here - you are excellent graphic communicators - now it's just matching your communication with what we truly believe ours is, that will extend and brand us and be useful in the many ways our name and bug show up in the world. We will be going after some very large international corporations to present our work so having a sterling top notch image of OnPointe is something we are really seeking. Thank you to each of you for your submissions, we'll go in to our pow wow session soon and post that information. As I understand it, if we leave you ranked rather than tossing it in to the not interested pile, it serves you better for your future contests, so we will keep everything as ranked if that's good for you. It's not too late to submit any new concepts you might have - we will remain open throughout the process - until we select one, it truly is anybody's game. Our best to you!

We extended - the team has been missing a member and the process based on the submissions is a lot more difficult than expected - keep em coming!! Back with more rankings and information on Monday morning when we pair them down. Fabulous!

Designers - thanks so much for all you have created so far. We are loving the ideas you are coming up with. We wanted to point out that we moved our stylistic sliders quite a bit.Through what you have shown us so far we have learned there are a few things we would like to see different. You are all doing an amazing job and we can't wait to see what new things you will all come up with. We will rank all of the unranked entries later today.

Designers -
#1. If you are in the top 20 for sure we'd like to see a variation of your logo for us with a capital O and capital P for OnPointe. Do not withdraw your onpointe version, we'd just like to see what the difference is.

#2. We are also wondering if anyone has considered creating the word Point in "Pointillism" or the font being made up of a variety of points to form the letter.

Our discussions are heated, there is much talk - no clear winner just a great deal of each of us having our favorites and coming to terms with our team and asking you for changes. Thank you so much for all your work on this - you are creative, resourceful and genius!

...and I have to tell you, this is hard work being a contest holder - it's really difficult to pick your favorite, see what your clients might see, think about it's use in all the places you intend to use it - you want them all generally speaking! it's probably difficult for a lot of folks because it really is a place that people are going to make a snap judgment about your company and their affiliation with the 'look and feel' of you. Marketing to a brand... very very fun stuff. We seriously do appreciate every entry, no matter where they are ranked.

At this stage of the contest we want to be narrowing it down to our finals so we have a few days to work with the designer to get the final logo. It is as disappointing to us as it is to you when you are asked to withdraw or have your designs withdrawn from the competition. We are not told about this until we log on and see they are gone, no reasons, just gone. So.. if you have your designs here, within the top 20 as of Friday morning, we will be writing back and forth with you to arrive at 'it'. Thank you for your patience and your continued feedback and creative work. WE appreciate you!

Thanks to all the designers - we are keeping the contest open however, we have narrowed it down to 21 designs we are beginning to hone in on something with - that doesn't mean we have our "it" factor and that you should stop submitting anything new or different, or what we've asked you directly for. Any questions, be sure to private message us. Good luck.

The designs keep rolling in - we will evaluate everything - do note we are leaving you comments and making requests, we realize it's the weekend and our contest ends Monday morning. This contest will not be extended. Thank you again for all the creative assets that go in to this process!!!

We want to thank everyone who participated in this contest. It was VERY difficult to choose from so many talented people. We selected the one we did because it allowed us to tell the story of how people come together as individuals with their own strengths, to join a common point. With over 600 entries we were stunned to see all the last minute folks show up. While I appreciate you don't want your designs sitting around for extended periods of time, this last minute influx felt... like you didn't want to work with us and we by no means wanted to be right up to the wire on this decision. Our version of contest holder was give us enough time to see what you have and work with you on fonts and colors and placement. Offbeat, Tilly, Concept, nzr, Alex, to name but a few really gave it their all here.. as did others who appeared later in the time frame like kooldog etc.. SO. I would advise you last minute folks to not be so last minute - we wanted to be wowed right out of the gate and while we were (thank you nzr) it was the development of the concept with several of you from the middle of this contest that has us most engaged and truthfully we were almost annoyed by last minute folks who clearly didn't read our extensive feedback, or even our initial instructions about the On and the E being a different color - at least we were clear when we started out about a few things. grin. Fabulous contest, fabulous entries, wish we could have picked several of them, it was almost gluttony for us to see so many truly talented people's contributions. You made our jobs difficult. In the end, again, the story we saw withing and the versatility and the strength and crispness of Offbeat's design won our hearts. Thank you again to each of you. Our best, Team OnPointe, or is that team onpointe now? Smiling.
