Contest Brief
Company Name:
Lighthouse Catholic Media
Slogan:
Answer Pope John Paul II's call for a New Evangelization
What We Do:
We promote audio CDs from some of the best Catholic speakers in the world on all aspects of life from cradle to grave. The main focus for this Logo is for a program that will go door to door inviting a community to a Welcome Night we will host at the parish - we are thinking of calling this something like "Emissaries Program" Open Hearts - Open Doors or Invitation Day for All.
Our Industry:
Religious
Formats Accepted
.EPS only
Top Three Things to Communicate through our Logo:
#1 - Strong colors, but not hyper masculine. Perhaps some warm colors, but not so warm that there's no "bite" to the logo. It has to arrest (or "stop") the viewer in some manner.
#2 - Clean (professional font), but not stiff.
#3 - Inviting - Nothing too wild as this doesn't work in a more reserved Church setting, which most parishes are.
Our Target Audience:
This is for Door to Door evangelization so mostly families of all types in a typical town. The essences are

* I like icons (images) that more "hint" at the religious than do I like overtly religious (or predictable) images.
* Nothing can look "clip art-ish".
Styles that we are interested in:
Pictorial Mark

A pictorial mark uses literal or representative imagery to symbolize the brand. Famous examples include:

Abstract Mark

Uses abstract shapes and symbols to convey an idea or attribute about the organization. Famous examples include:

Letterform Mark

Typically uses a very small amount of letters (1-2) to represent the organization. Famous examples include:

Please note that the above brands are in no way, shape, or form associated with LogoTournament. They are cited as examples under Fair Use for the enrichment of the general public's knowledge of the graphic arts.

Color Preferences:
* Strong colors, but not hyper masculine. Perhaps some warm colors, but not so warm that there's no "bite" to the logo. It has to arrest (or "stop") the viewer in some manner.

The logos so far have been great, but we failed to communicate one important item: We do not wish to incorporate the name of our company or the event into the logo — this will therefore be more of a pictoral or abstract mark than a letterform mark. We have not yet decided upon the name of the door-to-door evangelization program which this logo will signify. We already have an established logo for our company, so we do not need a logo that says "Lighthouse" or "Lighthouse Catholic Media". I apologize for the confusion. Keep up the great ideas!
