Our Target Audience:
Please visit www.gyllenborglaw.com to learn as much as you can about us before beginning your work. Our audience is individuals in need of criminal defense services, and law firms, large and small, that refer out their criminal cases. We do very little advertising targeted directly to clients. The bulk of our advertising budget is spent in the trade, keeping our name out there for referrals. We are well-known and well-respected, and we want a logo design that when seen will immediately relate the viewer to our law firm. Two of our partners are former assistant district attorneys. Our managing partner is the former president of the 1,500 member local bar association and is very involved in the major metropolitan area legal scene. He is a committee head in the nearby 5,000 member major metropolitan bar association. Our background is through major (100+ lawyers) law firms. The logo needs to have a modern, clean and non-offensive look of quality, but not be overly traditional (since we could do that by printing the names of the lawyers on a piece of letterhead). We are already well-known, and we want to maintain a dignified yet original image. Some eye impact is okay.
Styles that we are interested in:
Wordmark
A wordmark consists of the company name in a stylized type and may include small abstract or pictorial elements. Famous examples include:
Abstract Mark
Uses abstract shapes and symbols to convey an idea or attribute about the organization. Famous examples include:
Letterform Mark
Typically uses a very small amount of letters (1-2) to represent the organization. Famous examples include:
Please note that the above brands are in no way, shape, or form associated with LogoTournament. They are cited as examples under Fair Use for the enrichment of the general public's knowledge of the graphic arts.
Color Preferences:
We have decided to go black/white to get the most mileage on letterhead, business cards, and the black & white print media we publish in most often. Thanks for picking up the alteration.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
Take a look at the CLIVE CHRISTIAN black and white logo in their print advertisement on page three of the March 2010 issue of "Architectural Digest." Perhaps "GYLLENBORG & DUNN pa" on top line, and "TRIAL ATTORNEYS" on bottom in much smaller size. Try the SAME font and SAME style; stretch out the bottom line. This is a collaborative effort, so I hope you appreciate that as I see your designs, I am fine-tuning what I want. Attached is our amateur print ad which is carried each month in the largest-circulation attorney trade magazine in the area, reaching over 5,000 lawyers. It is included to give you some feel for what we do in our law practice and how we see ourselves (minus your professional assistance in getting our message out).
