Color Preferences
The logo will most likely be used on black or white backgrounds. I'm open to ideas for color - just as long as it suits the high-end feel that we're looking for.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Will also be animated for video at some point. So something with elements that will work well for animation would be great.

Existing website - www.dnmvideo.com.au - looking at logo being a starting point for complete re-branding.

Subtle use of graphics would be ok (optional - not necessary) - but please stay away from anything that looks like clipart !! No couples on cakes, flowers, rings ... no cliches.

Thanks for the entries so far. I prefer a lower case 'n - as it's D'nM ... as opposed to DNM.

Also designs with some depth - keeping in mind that it will be animated for video as well.

Ok - I just read a blog post about how these contests work and on giving feedback etc. I'm not great at articulating what I want - but I'll give it a crack ...

Firstly - thanks to everyone for a bunch of great designs.

Dezyner - I'm liking what you're doing with these new designs. There are elements in #23, 24, 25 & 26 that I like. I like the silver D'nM in #25 - more than the bronze colour. I'm a little undecided about whether I like the D'nM over or beside 'wedding films' ... both look good. Jury is still out on that one. I like the shadow on #26 - but perhaps a little less pronounced.

Andy Shaw - I like what you've done too, although the D'nM is similar to my current logo ... I want to get away from the handwritten scrawl fonts. Designabot - although it's a different font, it's a similar feel with how you have the D'nM.

Persue23 - I think the wedding films font is a little too common within weddings vendors, but I don't mind what you've done. Perhaps with a lower case 'n.

I hope this is helpful for everyone. Please let me know if you want anything specifically addressed, I'll do my best.

Thanks Rudy,

I had read the initial post to that thread - but I've now read all of the responses as well.

I want to thank everyone for their time and efforts. You have made the decision very hard for us! I'll do my best to rank fairly.

I have given individual feedback where I could. I know you all thrive on feedback and I do realise the importance of feedback, I apologise that running a business takes up so much time :)

I have asked for feedback from some of our clients - as ultimately they are who the logo needs to appeal to. I will be extending the contest just so that I can collate some of that feedback.

If I have any questions or revision requests - I will post them directly to each designer.

One thing I wasn't clear on from reading the discussion post is how far down do the ranked entries score points for you? I understand that the top 10 score highest - but are there points awarded beyond that? At the moment, I have ranked 50 entries - but I'd be happy to rank more if it helps you.

This is strictly my opinion, in response to your last posted ranking question, I wouldn't mind only seeing a total of 25-35 logos ranked. The others would either be new additions you haven't currently ranked and the rest being 'not interested'.... the sole purpose for this would be to get a better feel for the style you prefer and the direction you are more interested in pursuing.

I'm not sure if CHs are a little apprehensive about declining the logos with "not interested," but most designers are accustomed to having their work critiqued... plus, it at least gives us some direction instead of just leaving them out there in the open.

Again this is just my personal opinion as a designer, not sure how others feel....

Ok - getting down to the nitty gritty now. I've been more brutal on the 'not interested' column today. Please don't take it personally :) I do appreciate all of your hard work.

I'm aiming, as dmhelms suggested - to keep it to 25 - 35 ranked entries.

Feel free to msg me for specific feedback. Just so that you're aware of time differences, it's 7:20pm here right now. I'll be online for another 4 hours or so - and then back again from about 8am our time (which is about 4 hours to contest end).
