College 500Logo Design Contest

Hoping to see at least one "emblem logo" concept from somebody.

To all designers:

We expect a majority of the users of our web site to be on mobile devices, phones. A larger logo will take up a lot of vertical real estate on a small screen. For that reason, an emblem-style logo will have to be truly awesome for us to choose it as the winner. (we've seen some amazing ones in other contests) If none emerge like that, then we'll likely choose a horizontally oriented logo.

Please feel free to use the closest Pantone equivalents to our colors. We like bold, crisp, colorful fonts and colors and will adjust the color scheme of our web site to match those in the winning logo.

We're doing our best to give detailed feedback as quickly as possible to all designers. Thank you for your submissions thus far and we hope to see many more design concepts. Thank you.

There is a small possibility that our web site will change from the "College 500" to the "College 1000". We will give consideration to any logos that look like they could be easily adapted to either number, and we will likely contact the winning designer to see if we could obtain the winning design with both numbers - hopefully for only a small additional fee.

Some great designs so far - thank you!

We are keeping an open mind until the very end, so we welcome and look forward to lots of additional entries. And while we seem to be drawn to logos with blues and greens, please feel free to use and recommend any colors that you think look good.

I know we said we wanted "simple", but, for those of you considering an emblem-style logo, we think we would be looking for something more complex based on what we've seen so far.
