Hello designers, I know the creative process can be very time consuming and I appreciate your effort. Landscape Design is also a creative process (if you're doing it right anyway) and I know how difficult it can be to put out something new and unique. Designers, Is it appropriate/helpful to critique one logo based upon what I like about another designer's logo, or should I only comment about what I like/dislike about the specific logo I am analyzing? Example: I may like this logo's font/symbol but I would prefer the colors used on another logo. What do you think? Randy

you can do that but through private messages to each designer

Try to give as much feedback as you can on each designers page, its best to explain every aspect of the logo, usually divided into: Icon / Colour / Type / Layout (positioning of logo relative to the text)

dont be afraid to say you dont like something, any designer who cant handle constructive criticism is in the wrong industry =)

Thanks Bugy and Speedlogo, very helpful. Can all the designers view my comments/critiques when I click on that particular designers logo? Also, would it be helpful or too much work if after I receive the first logo from a designer (and provide comments on that logo) that I go into that designers portfolio and pick, for instance, my 3 favorite logos and mention what I like about them and how they might be used in developing my logo?

Hi Designers, another day gone by and some more excellent submissions. You guys are incredible! I belong to a Networking Group of people who own small businesses and I know they will be very interested in this process. QUESTION: When I select a winner will I receive file/files that I can change colors, sizes, etc. if I want to put the logo on different color shirts, brochures, etc. Ideally, I would like one finished copy that cannot be manipulated along with another copy that can be altered by a local designer if I choose. You are entitled to what ever formats you require

I personally supply following

1. High rez jpg 300 dpi cmyk
2. High res jpg 300 dpi RGB
3. Transparent background PNG for desktop publish and Web
4. Black & White 300 dpi
5. an Illustrator working file

Hi Designers. I am going to be open to the possibility of using some version of a B or even BLC as part of the logo. I still like the bluebonnet symbol because I think it makes for good company name recognition/association, but I am seeing other contests where letters/initials can be effective as well.

Hi designers, How many blue ribbons are awarded? Is it a percentage of total entries, or is it a percentage of the total entries that have been ranked? I would like to have as many blue ribbons as possible to reward designers for participation in my contest. Please let me know! Randy

Your designs and this process has really exceeded my expectations! Some extremely creative work. After looking at many different logos, here are some preferences to help modify existing and new logos.
Favorite bluebonnets: Entry #29 #54 #50 #94
Favorite Colors to use: Entry #94 #29 #85
Favorite Font styles: Entry #94 #29 #111 #50
I would also like to see more of working with different color backgrounds, particularly blue and gray.

Because I am continuing to receive new and original concepts that I like, I have extended my contest for 2 additional days. Please note the colors, styles, layouts, and fonts used on the higher rated logos as these have appealed to me the most. **I am particularly drawn to some of the original artwork of the bluebonnets. I will continue to give private feedback and even look at your portfolios to look at logos you have done that I like and feel can be modified for a version of my logo.
