What We Do
Black Parrot is in business making high end business signs and vehicle wraps.

Color Preferences
"Black Parrot" obviously points to a black mascot but since this is a sign company, I would expect the parrot to be offset by a colorful background (maybe tropical) or hidden feathers or a mate that provide the color for the logo.

#12 has a great visual and good colors. The parrot is also its own "character" so it could be recognized by itself. The problem is the parrot is a little too scary (almost like a vulture). Is there a way to make a "classier" version of him that you could envision on the corner of a bus tailgate that was owned by someone like Disney?
#16 has great colors and a great theme. I even like the use of the font. My big problem with it is that I think it is too busy to be recognized from a distance (the font plays into that as well). I also like the idea of the parrot being recognizable on its own - and that is missing here.
#9 has a classy feel to it. If I had to pick one to one that I thought was an existing logo of a large successful company I would have chosen this one as my guess. So it conveys my message of "class". My feedback would be it needs more punch - more color around the parrot itself and maybe a more unique parrot. One of the tag lines I am considering is "Stand out from the flock" and this parrot doesn't jump out.

Designs are getting better and better. Thanks. My one input at this point is that even on my favorites, the parrot seems to be a little difficult to recognize as a parrot. I like the cool look that #12 and #21 have for the parrot so don't go in the opposite direction, just a little less abstract so the bird can be identified on its own as a "black parrot". I hope that helps.

For anyone who wants to see a couple of pictures of a real black parrot, there is a good web site with a few pictures at this link... http://www.crestock.com/image/469571-Black-parrot.aspx

One valid concern that a friend just reminded me of is that this will have to stand as a logo or as a letterhead so it is important that the parrot symbol is recognizable by itself but I would also like the ability to use the font "Black Parrot Sign Studio" separately as a letterhead and have it somewhat recognizable on its own. Some of the examples so far achieve this and others are too generic.

Getting close but still haven't seen that combination of a cool "black parrot sign studio" font and a bad-ass unique parrot. The mean/cool parrot could still definitely win out, but need it to be somewhat simple, with attitude and need the company name to stand on its own as well...

Good but not quite on the mark yet. Here are some great examples of logos that are simple but have the attitude I am looking for;
DENVER BRONCOS - http://www.denverbroncos.com/
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - http://www.seahawks.com/
ATLANTA FALCONS - http://www.atlantafalcons.com/
ARIZONA CARDINALS - http://www.azcardinals.com/

There were so many logos to look at so I tried to be ruthless this time through!! I only kept the ones that had aspects that I could envision in the winner. Thanks for all the hard work!
