Color Preferences
Colors at this time are undecided. The logo will consist of two colors and will be embroidered onto hockey jerseys and also likely onto other clothing or gear -- hats, t-shirts, hoodies, etc.. The jerseys will consist of both white jersey and a dark colored one, currently we are thinking a dark burgundy color. Colors currently being considered for the logo are black, silver, burgundy, purple. But will consist of two contrasting colors at a time, no more than two colors in the logo. No shading or gradients -- the logo will be done via heavy twill embroidery.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We want the logo to consist primarily of the team name "Beer Nuts". But will also consider Letterform marks as well, possibly something else too.

We want the logo to have a classic "old school" athletic feel to it. If constructed only with type, we're looking for something with some modification and style to it or completely original and not just a stock athletic font.

As of this comment, the team has weighed-in on the rankings. All entries will be reviewed one last time at the end of the contest. This contest WILL NOT BE EXTENDED. Once again, all submissions must be made out of two colors -- white is a color, black is a color.

FYI Rojo-

The color scheme you're asking for is considered single color, that is one color on top of whatever you're printing/stitching it on. Your current selection suggests that your jerseys will be white with black ink. Is that true?

JohnOne, you are technically correct in that one color on top of whatever we are stitching onto would be considered a one color design. But we can accept a 2-color design, we seem to have a mix of one and two color submissions here, and a few 3-color. It is OK to consider two colors into this design in addition to whatever it will be stitched onto. But be mindful that the stitched design will have to be placed onto a white jersey as well as a darker jersey, still looking like a dark burgundy (dark purple/red) color. In that respect, it's probably best to keep the design as self-contained as possible. Also speaking of self-contained, the logo will be produced as a patch and then applied to the jerseys. so the amount of intricate details that are allowed to show-through or left as void space in the patch is somewhat restricted.

Also gradients are not possible, but as some have used hatching and other shading effects, that is fine.

The current 1st and 2nd place ranked designs would both be considered 2-color designs in this situation, because if created as a twill patch, in the bottle cap shape, it would consist of both the black and the white, or whatever two colors we ultimately choose. Same with the 3rd-ranked submission. The 4th-ranked is technically a 3-color.

We're still undecided, but are considering the logo to be stitched as silver and black, so black and white submissions are just fine. And for better visual effect, it wouldn't hurt to place them onto a dark burgundy colored background.

I'm sorry if I haven't been clear on this point up until now.
