Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.

~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.

~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.

~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"

~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.

~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.

~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Thanks for the comment. I appreciate all of the work the designers do and have already forwarded this site to business consultants, website designers, network consultants, other small business owners, etc. The work of the designers is fantastic. I love free enterprise, and this is a great way for new designers to compete.

I, along with my team will review every entry and provide feedback when appropriate. We work well as team, and everyone shares their opinion. There will be many 'eyes' on the contest every day.

My site will have a My Favorites section (www.401kguy.com). Logotournament.com will be listed with a brief explanation. I will help promote your site and the talented designers. Like my site, logotournament.com is filing a major need in a creative and efficient way. You will save your clients (CH) time and money. That is a receipe for success.

Good luck, and all the best to you.

Alternate Slogan: Process, Provider, Platform, Plan.
That is how we teach advisors. It starts with a process, then an advisor applies the process to a provider, then the platform (like a product), then decides what to use on the plan level. Thanks.

Still not loving my slogans. Let's try a shorter slogan - The Advisor's Resource.
I'm almost ready to scrap the slogan completely. I think I would rather have a cool graphic with the company name than a cool look with a slogan. Just thinking...

Still not loving much of it. I have removed the color requests. Any color combo is fine. I've also moved most of the sliders to neutral. Since I am not satisfied with the results so far, maybe the problem is what I'm asking for. Let's just try the company name, and consider my target market. That's it.

Need to take a different approach. Thanks.

I changed 'top three things' for the logo. Instead of professional, I wrote insightful. Still trying to find something cool. Here is a suggestion for all designers: How about trying crosshairs (like a rifle scope)? There is a zero on 401k, and an O in reconnaissance. What if a scope was over the K in 401k? I was sketching some designs today, and my sketches are really bad :) But maybe a scope with crosshairs to the left of 401k would look neat. Or, an scope over the K where the K was magnified. You would see the center of the K in the scope, but could still tell it is a K. Maybe the size of the scope would equal the 4, which would be bigger than the 01.
Might look too unprofessional, but it is worth a shot (pun intended!).

i have a question, is it, www.401krecon.com, and/or www.401kreconnaissance.com, seems the 401krecon.com is the site that redirects to 401kguy.com?

Thanks for feedback.

How about adding a slight sillouette of some people? I was hoping to see some designs with someone doing reconnaissance. Maybe someone with binoculars, or kneeling, or pointing, or something else that gives more of a feel of someone doing recon. Or, maybe try diferent tools used in recon, like binoculars, flashlights, etc. Thanks.

Agreed :)
I'm moving on....
Additional comments:
Got a little distracted from designs that will work on the web and on a business card. I love the web 2.0 style, but it will not work unless it can be simplified for a business card and stationary. The talent at this site is really incredible. I've already forwarded the address and endorsed it many times. That talent can actually be distracting. My apologies for wasting anybody's time by asking for styles that really wouldn't fit.
A couple of comments from some real professionals on the site (thanks Steve and Spiro) helped me focus. Thanks to all. My first two contests will not be my last.

ATTENTION DESIGNERS--NAME CHANGE COMING SOON!!! I have decided to select 'Steve' logo #2 as a winner to utilize the name 401k ReKon, or 401k reKon. I am working out details with Steve. I will purchase full rights to the name, then have another logo contest for 401k ReKon/reKon.
Do not submit anymore 401k Recon logos. Check back here for details.
Thanks for the logos. They are great. Can't wait to see them (or something new) using ReKon, reKon, re-Kon, etc.
In addition, I may have another logo contest for 'Process, Provider, Platform, Plan'.
As soon as I work it out with Steve, I'll update this contest and/or start a new, short one. Thanks!

Hi rmarino, the hotlink thing works by using the entry number preceeded by the pound sign with spaces on either end. Don't use the current ranking number. So I think you mean #350 ...? Cheers, Steve.

Thanks. Yes, #350.
